Possibly related to the fact that culturally they are more inclined to play in internet cafes which are pay per hour.

$20 USD converted into time card would be 215 hours (est) 215 hours x 30 days = a little over 7 hours a day. So if you play for more than 7 hours a day then the monthly sub would be best |

Having done the C-Aion pay per hours, I wish the USA would adopt the payer per hours format. The pay per month system is horrible considering some weeks, I don't want to play at all. The pay per hours is definitely a better value, even if you play 6 hours a day versus the monthly plan.
Plus in Korea and China, most people play in a Internet Cafe, not at home, so the pay per hours make much more sense. |

While an hourly system would make it cheaper for me, I'd fear it would turn me into a cost-nyerk by making sure I'd get the most out of every hour. So no exploration, chit-chat, browing through the auction, e.t.c.
But i don't want to be that paranoid, so I prefer monthly. |

![]() BTW - they can play for 3hrs - then have to log off for 5hrs. To get around this you have to "prove" you're an "Adult". But if you're a hardcore player this type of pay plan get more expensive than a sub. |

Is wrong acually. Pay per month you get a lot more game play then pay per hour. Why? because if you pay per month you can play for 24 hours straight each day of that month. If you pay per hour you could buy 100 hours and spend those 100 hours afk in a city through a week. The month payment isnt limited to an hour base so you get way more time out of it and your never really wasting time if your afk in a city selling stuff you get 30 days no matter how many hours you play. __________________ ![]() |

Pay Per Hour:
Pros: You can buy time and not log on for a year straight and you come back your time is there. Cons: You could by 100 hours and want that to last you 1 month but in the end only lasts you 1 week because you play so much. Pay Per Month: Pros: You buy a month and can play for as many hours as possible in 30 days. Cons: You buy a month and your month of time is running no matter if you play or not. You get 30 days and thats it. In the end if you play a lot like day to day atleast 5 hours a day pay by month is way cheaper and better for you and YES im pretty sure its a Law in China they have to pay per hour I dont know exactly why but they do that with all of there games its required. __________________ ![]() |

I remembered when I first started iRO (my first real MMO experience, aside from brief stints in Everquest on my rich friend's account) that there was an option to pay $7.99 for about 30 hours of play, which seemed to make sense to me considering I was still quite studious back in the day.
It was only until after that subscription was over that I realized that in order to be competitive, I had to get a monthly subscription. Grind is so bad in that the powerleveling sites don't even bother giving out packages for that game :P |
