Nah PvP kills give a lot more than mobs 150-350 or so for is what i've seen for players

AP penalty for dying should be much lower than AP reward for killing.

It's that simple. Otherwise no one will PvP except in the situations they are absolutely certain they'll win and that promotes ganking... and screws up PvP in general. I can see people of opposing factions farming mobs side by side for fear of loosing their AP. And besides, it leaves me with a sour taste in my mouth when I know that the guy who I just killed lost more than I gained... It makes me feel like a bastard and I don't want that. I don't want to really hate the guy in the opposing faction - he is providing me with fun in the form of an opponent. It should be like in sports - you do not "hate" the guys in the other team nor you want to hurt or punish them. In fact you're thankful they're there so you can have someone to play against. "Love your enemy" and all that.

WAR has no renown or xp penalties for dying and I see people there striving really hard to win. If you die you loose time and therefore potential rp gain, not to mention the group goals. If there is suicidal behavior then it is usually justified in the context of helping your group and achieving those group goals. As a tank I will occasionally sacrifice myself by running into a huge wall of enemies throwing debuffs, CC etc around so I can buy time for my squishy buddies to regroup and heal. If I were to personally loose something with this unselfish behavior I would think twice about it - why should I loose AP so that those bastards (my allies actually) can gain?

I used to be a fan of individual death penalties but now I see that the only thing they do is slow down the rate of PvP occuring and make it more selfish and cowardly.
