Hello everyone,
I've been getting a few reports that people who have bought the digital copy of Aion through the NCSoft store (using proxies) who live outside of the NA regions for the American copy of Aion are getting their accounts banned before the game has even gone retail. Now I highly recommend that those who have done this to please check their account status through the NCSoft account management page to verify this. If you have been a victim of this account banning please contact the NCSoft customer support and demand a reason as to why. Also because the game has yet to go retail they HAVE to refund you your money that you paid for the copy of Aion. If they don't refund you your money, this is theft/fraud and legal actions can be taken against the company. So again please double check your account status for those that have used proxies or other means to buy the NA version of Aion who don't live in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand to just name a small few. Please post your findings within this thread as I'm sure Ayase and Liv will comment on this very quickly. Actually I didn't exactly used a proxy to buy my copy, (I have my family splitted across Europe and America and I often travel back and forth) but yea, my account got banned, even though I've been able to play CB3 without problems.
I've contacted the CS, and since I am here in Europe at moment, my ticket got prompted to the EU/UK CS. Still waiting a reply from them. I managed to get in touch with Ayase yesterday night, but all he could tell me was that probably it has been due to a mistake. Let's see. |

I'm pretty sure once you're back in the states you'll be able to negotiate an unban

I work for a verizon fraud control. I'd question your statement on whether or not it's fraud. I'd say it's probably a bad business practice, though, and it's in their best interest to refund the money.
It's very dependent on that agreement most people don't read when they create an account. Has anyone out there read it and seen any definite disclaimers for this type of action? The NCSoft account and the Aion software are two seperate entities, I'd bet. And again, I am not in any way supporting this type of behavior from NCSoft without an explanation and full refunds. I just don't think the word fraud should be thrown around so lightly, especially if NCSoft did not misrepresent themselves, but were rather simply misunderstood. |

NCSoft have yet to confirm or deny that this is illegal. Banning accounts before such an official announcement has been made is a fraudunt act and a very bad business plan as customers have not been given correct or full information as to what they can and can't do. This is unfortunately just reality and when it comes to consumer rights, NCSoft have just kind of broken every single policies in regards to the rights of the consumer. Of course this thread will probably get a lot of attention with comments like yours and Birdy Cephon Altera; however how would you feel if you were both victim of this? __________________ ![]() CPU: Intel Core i7 920 GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 1.8Gb RAM: Corsair 6GB DDR3

There really should be no point in banning EU from NA servers, or NA from EU servers. This is the internet, and I assume a majority of us know people in other countries and would like to play with others. Whether you're EU or NA shouldn't matter, NCSoft should take the ****-covered stick out of their *** and stop being so butthurt over who plays where, and why.
If an EU wants to play on NA, let them. If an NA wants to play on EU, let them. NO POINT IN QQ'ING ABOUT IT. |

Oh wow if you outside NA you are not allowed to play AION on NA servers? My friend who is stationed in africa right now pre-ordered the BETA and kept asking me why it wouldn't let him connect to the US beta servers.. So what.. people in the military can't play AIOn on NA servers now?
EDIT* Im pretty sure it has to do with him not being in the US to because when he trys to connect it says something about proxy. Last edited by bbangyo; 07-10-2009 at 04:27 AM.. Reason: added |

The thing is that given my situation, I wouldn't be able to play either EU or NA servers.
I often find myself to live here or there. If the IP ban would be applied, if I get an EU account, when I am in America, I wont be able to play, and viceversa with a NA account. As Vepo said, no confirmation has been made yet, and the weird thing is that it happened after the CB3 (which I normally played). I would've expected at very least a mail from NCsoft, but I found about the Ban just out of "pure luck" the other night. |
