Why cant I use spacebar for jumping & flying?

ok, im not sure if anyone else has already posted this or not as its 3 am and my search skills suck due to me being partially blind, thank god i know which key on the keyboard is which. Now have any of you come across this and has it nyerked you off?

i can almost use every key in the game to bind as a secondary for things but I cannot use space as jump when im grounded and as rise when in flight mode, what gives? why am i not allowed to do this, it just seems rediculous and im thinking to myself to buy this nifty gadget to make things easyer.

I keep hitting space bar to go up....it's a hard habit to break. >.<

Please don't troll him. He said he is partially blind. If its not true or false I don't know but since he joined in 2007 he is definitly not a troll.

You can Jump with Space Bar, If you tap space bar while in air you open your wings to Glide.

To fly you have to open wings with Page Up Button. To remove them Press Page Down Button.


Tip. You can free fall while in air, tap Spacebar and glide last bit, thus falling from heights without dieing.

I'm not "trolling" anyone. You can;t bind flight to space because that's how it is.

I still dont see why people dont just use the mouse for flying...So much better in my opinion.

Can you bind it to scroll up and scroll down? Now that would be helpful.

To be honest, you dont need to activate/de-activate flight that much in the early levels. I just click the button.

IIRC someone said they bound R = Spread Wings, F = Close Wings and moves up and down with mouse looking. Thats probably one of the better solutions.

It comes from games with flying in it. The first thing that comes to mind as an example is the Battlefield games with flight vehicles, especially BF: 2142. You go forward at full speed and gain altitude without changing the camera angle, using just the mouse to go forward and up, you change the camera angle and forward speed the higher you point up. That's only one of the many things you can do from that, which is usually bound to spacebar(jump) in those games. Even though I haven't tried because I plan to do a massive rebind at some point, I'm sure you could bind like B to rise and use that instead since it's right above spacebar, but does it work with all other movements at the same time that you're holding it?

Yep this is the problem I had I beta, I kept hitting Space Bar to try and rise, but it made me drop to the floor instead.

Did my nut in, in the end.
