It's not all that useful if you're playing the game since launch. Since farmers will theoretically have just as hard a time obtaining gold as you will. If you're a year late to the game, prices will have dropped a great deal as people set up farming operations.
I've always felt that it cheapens the game. |

In CBT3 I never ran into money problems. If this trend continues throughout the next 30 levels, I see no reason for buying game currency other than downright laziness, which I frown upon.

I'm just saying if someone did try selling kinah in the CB that would be ridiculous, but I kinda wouldn't put it past the people out there in this world.

It's not a free market. It is a VIDEOGAME with *RULES*. These rules are in-place both in and out of game for things that affect the game, to protect the play environment's integrity. Buying gold is essentially activating a cheat just as an instakill on an enemy would be... it is both against the rules, lame, and not what you agreed to do when subscribing to the game per the EULA/TOS. The point of playing the game is to play the game, not purchase things so you can skip the parts you don't find as fun as others.

And if you use the tradebroker and privateshop right you will never have any money problems inside this game. Samething with World of warcraft, really easy to farm money even so many are buying "gold" just laziness. |

I kind of like how CCP does it with EVE Online: You can buy ETCs (Eve Time Cards) from CCP and sell them to players in-game for ISK (the game's currency). That way, if a player wants to "buy" in-game currency, they can do so without resorting to illegal/unethical means, and it also gives players the option to pay for their subscription with in-game currency.
Not sure if anything like that would work in Aion, but I thought it was a good idea on CCP's part. That said, I've never bought gold for any MMO, and I'm kind of opposed to the idea. |

This is the attitude that the buyers use, completely ignorant of the effects their actions have on everyone on the server. Goldbuyers throw their cash all over the auction house and cause prices to inflate as massive amounts enter the economy. Goldbuyers don't just cheat, they ruin the game for everyone else and make it harder and harder for legitimate new players to start.

Didn't China ban all selling of virtual currency though? And I believe 85% of Gold Selling operations are located in China.
That should put a huge dent in the gold selling industry, at least for a moment. |

I never saw the point in buy gold.
It takes that feeling away you get when you save up and buy that one item you've saved for. I still remember the excitement i felt when i had enough to buy my flying mount of WoW ![]() So yea Gold buying is bad, and i've heard it funds terrorism and pirates. |

It's easy enough to get kinah. The quests are more-than-generous and vendor trash sells for a nice chunk of change. Crafting gets expensive, but you can offset the cost by doing work orders and getting crafting materials in return.
I have seen a couple sites that sell kinah so they are out there. As others have mentioned - the best way to shut those down is to abstain from buying kinah / gold / plat / whatever. There's one in Pandemonium right off the bat that gives 500 kinah to run to the bank and back to the quest-giver, you can do that 100 times . . . 500 x 100 = no reason to buy kinah. When you hit level 20 a second quest is made available for 1,000 kinah a pop x 100 times. |

the only times i was low on Kinah in the CB's so far is when I gave $$ to my poor friend a few times. other than that I do agree it seems like you accumulate enough kinah while playing.
Especially if you grind for weapons or armor at all. |
