Is kinah buying the norm these days?

I'm reading posts which quite frankly have me concerned. People talk about purchasing gold from the gold farmers rather than earning items in game. An example is the wings discussion. Some people are suggesting quite logically, that it's cheaper to buy gold than to pay for the CE pack to gain the wings.

There was a time in game forums when people who posted suggesting anyone buy gold would have been shot down and reported by the community. But, now it seems normal, and part of regular conversation.

Is this the case? Is buying gold normal practice these days?

If so, then doesn't this ruin the game economy? It can't possibly have a positive impact on the game, I can only see it spoiling things. Also, I find it completely unfair and in a way "cheating".

In addition, does buying gold not encourage the 'botting' that everyone is so apposed to?

Sorry if this offends people, but I for one will be appealing to the gamers not to purchase gold. It will ruin our ingame economy. I can see the fun in it, truly I can. Having things before others, not having to hand over your hard earned kinah for stuff. But, isn't it also fun to earn it? Isn't it a great feeling when you have worked really hard, and long hours, to finally get your wonderful new wings, or whatever it is?

My appologies if I'm wrong here and gold buying has become normal. If so, then I guess we all need to stop complaining about gold farmers and botts, then should we?

No one who really enjoys the games they play likes gold buying. It's not normal and still against the rules.

I have yet to see an NA server Khina ad...been kinda looking around to see what the gold farmers are planning.

I agree with ya 100% and I hope/believe there is a decently large player base that feels the same about this and wont buy from gold farmers.

Doesn't take a math degree for some people to work out that if they do 1 hour of a real job, they get enough money to buy money that would have taken them 5, 10, or even more hours to grind out.

I don't buy money, but its painfully obvious that buying game money is essentially buying time in your life since you didn't have to sit there farming.

There will be those trying to buy and sell kinah, but it will ultimately diminish the game experience for everyone involved. Since we don't want that, we don't want that at all, actions will evidently be taken with zero tolerance against those who are found buying and selling in-game items.

Reporting bots, and people who pay for gold is something everyone should do
just destroying the game for others, do it for the greater good.

I don't bother buying gold. I'll have to pay for the game and i'm not going to pay more on top of that.

But from what I've seen from the CB, the money system is simmilar to L2 and it's hard to get the higher level gear without buying adena (L2 currency, don't know for certain bout having to buy adena as i never got to a high level). But that being said, it is illegal and in ruins the game for everybody when they start getting spammed with offers to buy whatever the currency may be. I had heard that NCSoft would start selling in-game currency for real world money and that sounds like a good idea to me. Those who want to can go out and buy it and it won't totally skew the economy in-game

The OP was also talking about the fact that it gives you a sense of accomplishment when you do grind for kinah and earn an item be it through grinding for the cash or grinding for the loot.

That's why the design of game's economy is of vital importance .If you take away a huge chunk of the need for Kinah ,you also take away a huge chunk of the demand ( i.e. "temptation to buy gold " is reduced ) and as result you'll also see less bots/goldsellers.

The way I've seen the idea thrown out there as though it's a valid option, made me believe it was no longer against the rules. They day that happens will probably be the day I stop playing these games, for it won't be any fun earning things while the rest of the community just buy theirs! lol

more than likely. Aoc had the ads months before the game even launched. This is one way for me to know that gold farmers will be here or not.

As popular as this game is hyped up to be then yes i'm sure i'll get my full confirmation soon.
