I loved those "casting words" as well, it was actually one of the first things that caught my eye about this game's innovation...and I'm not even a caster! lol

Yea, no kidding. I suspect many would-be casters switch once they try it out. Mass pvp, random pvp (rifts etc), and outnumbered situations, gonna be difficult staying alive. Think spiritmasters end up with even less hp than the sorcerers. Painful times ahead.

Well the serious serious threats to a sorc mostly come from archers. Melee units can be kept under control by sorc's sleeps, slows, trees, roots, etc etc. and also keep that dp gauge up. Cuz later on sorc's have a dp skill with a 2s cast that will sleep all( i think all) enemies within 5m radius of the sorc. Except that cost 3000 DP to use with a 30min cd...

In EQ1 there was a characters Concentration skill, if you made your role a hit wouldn't break a Cast, otherwise you started from scratch.
WoW and Vanguard use a method that every hit adds to cast time and potentially completely interrupts a cast.

Nothing more infuriating than to get the cast bar to 90%, have it drop down to 60%, work back up to 90%, drop to 50%, upto 80%, down to 60%... by now the 2 second cast time has become 10seconds....
