Experience loss on death

I would like Ayase to reply if possible ><

now i remember reading somewhere that when u die u get a little bit of experiance loss, now i dont mind that but it just accrued to me in the game "Rappelz" when u lost enough experiance u actually de-level, e.g. if ur level 20 and die enough u become level 19 again...

AION BETTER NOT BE LIKE THIS!

that is pretty much saying "dont pvp, if u do u will lose levels that u worked so hard for"

The best way to implement this system is:

Just say u were level 20 and had 100exp to level 21 and every time u die u lose 50exp, so when u die u lose 50exp meaning u have 50exp left and when u die again u lose another 50exp having 0exp towards level 21, but any time u die after that u dont lose any more exp..

this method will for sure encourage pvp where as losing levels when dieing will make u want to stay in towns/citys all day just so u dont lose anything!

p.s. corpse looting is good

negative, I think it was said that you can pay gold instead of xp to rez....and I don't think even paying xp would actually delevel you lol

I wonder if PVP would even induce xp loss. Some games only have loss on NPC or random death to encourage more PvP. It will be interesting to find out the system.

I seriously doubt they will incur xp or gold loss in pvp. If they did then PvP would be too costly for most players to do, which ruins the whole idea of a PvP based game

Even if you do lose exp when you die, my guess is that during pvp you don't. But it will most likely be durability related problems for death (less for pvp probably).

Just keep a buffer of exp, deleveling isn't as big of an issue as it seems if you aren't stupid.

I DO NOT want to grind a buffer of xp, and before anyone says anything, its not a matter of laziness, its a matter of fun in a game.

Unfortunately, I've made myself accept the fact that de-leveling could be a reality.

I can assure you now that it's a feature of Lineage 2. PvP exp loss, although smaller than monster exp loss, does exist. You can also delevel from them (although you don't lose your skills) and some classes use this to their advantage (I won't bother explaining because it's off topic)

When it comes to exp loss I don't mind. ^^"

Seeing as how exp isn't supposed to be as hard to get as other games I don't really mind.

Well I've dealt with a lot worse than what I'm expecting it to be. The only real flaw is if you can delevel once your max which i think at max level you cant.

I don't understand why it's a big issue. It surely takes a lot of dieing if you are level 50 with 100% experience. In Lineage2-Terms, you die 25x then you are at lvl 50 with 0% xp (4% loss each death). The 26th death would delevel you to lvl 49 @ 96% experience. Now add the fact that you are gaining exp when killing an enemy. The overall experience loss would be minimal.
