Instead of Bronze Sword, it's Bronze Sword +1 which generally has slightly better stats and an extremely inflated price tag. (example)

Aion has that, they're called 'shining'

here's a crafting guide on armor and about 'shining' armor.
General Crafting Information - Armorsmithing

Shining is greens you can create uniques as well.

Yeah HQ stands for high quality. FFXI craft system is the following : You can level one craft up to 100. Then you can level all the other crafts up to 60. Craft reciepes takes X skill on "main" craft along with X skill on "sub(s)" crafts. As a sidenote you can get (by crafting a lot) different items that adds 1 to one of the skill of your choose. When you can craft something, it may result in an "HQ" result. The factors to increase your HQ rates are such as : moon phase, element of the day (fire thunder water etc), the element you are facing when doing your craft (N S W E are linked to elements) aswell of course as the level of your craft and sub-crafts skills. Goes without saying these factors also apply to "Normal quality" craft success.

Its a very complex craft system. This is a old game now, that has been played by a lot of people and someone has yet to come up with some kind of "HQ key".

If Aion crafts system is gonna be very alike, then I can tell you its gonna be awesome.

The FFXI system was interesting, mostly due to the fact that nobody ever really figured it out. All the variables such as time of day, what way you were facing, what day it was in the game calendar... they all influenced the results, but to what degree nobody ever really knew.

Having said that, it was also a very painful system I found. Crafting in FFXI was a grinding nightmare, as skill ups were far and few between and seeing increments of 0.1 and 0.2 skillpoints was about as much fun as waiting for water to boil. I hope that Aion has an interesting system like FFXI, but one that is a little more gratifying.
