Your thoughts on voice chat in-game?

OK for me I'm a total 50/50 on voice chat.

I love voice chat for things like PVP, Raids and general group guesting stuff. I also find it a great way to meet and get to know new friends. I've been using vent for years chattin with people across the U.S. and UK that I prob would have never talked to otherwise. Oh and I kinda have a strange sarcastic sense of humor that most people dont get when I type. So I find voice chat very handy in that respect.

On the other hand I kinda like to RP a bit. When I type in spacial chat, I tend to stay in character. Which has caused problems for me in the past with fellow guild members who dont understand that. What I say in guild chat or voice chat has nothing to do with what the rest of the community needs to know.

I find it amusing talking with friends while doing nothing or farming or whatever... Its kinda helpful while doing missions together.

So I like it, as long as those little annoying kiddies don't join my server..... Well, depending on my admin status, it can be amusing too.

Usually i rather listen to music, or while grinding watch some TV... And it doesn't help that I'm a bit "slow", so I have a hard time following the voice chat...

But I guess I'm gonna start using it more in Aion, at least for raiding and stuff...

Do I like voice chat?
It depends. When I was playing rappelz the only people who were using our guild vent were 10+ years older than me... and that was great experience! I loved talking with them. It's great feeling when you'll say something funny on voice chat, and everyone are laughing on ingame text chat, making people ''0.o WTF? i missed somethin'?''

In my L2 clan there was some girl from Hungary who would never ever talk in vent, only heard her once, and we had this Aussie guy and his wife who were like 30-35 and played, the Aussie would always get upset when she wouldnt talk and would say stuff like "Jenny, I thought I told you to go to the kitchen and make me a damned sandwich already!", and would always say stuff like that and said he would only stop if she spoke in vent, then you read in clan chat "Jenny: go burn in a microwave!". One time one guy got some program that changes the pitch/frequency of your voice and made it sound like a girl then started hitting on people lol. Last week we were raiding antharas and this 1 guy was in afk channel with push to talk stuck on or something blasting his music...we move him into the raid channel of like 70 ppl and watch them all start flipping out and the guy doesnt even know whats going on...good times

As the leader of a endgame pvp clan in L2 its not really if voice chat is good or not. Basically the team with voice chat and co-ordination wins :P

I also listen a lot instead of talking. My guild atm is big and I don't know any of them IRL so I get nervous about talking :/
