Games that have a good amount of grinding in it have a better level separation between casual, dedicated, and hardcore (synonym for addicted) gamers. I personally enjoying seeing a level gap at certain points in the game, and therefore have absolutely no problem with grinding.

In most games now a days level has taken a backseat to equipment. You'll see a billion max level people in a day, and the only real way to distinguish between them is what tier of gear they have, or what PvP/E title they're working with. Some might think that's a good thing, but I prefer having level (at least in the first months of release) be the deciding factor in how much effort someone puts into their character.

I like it, when it's not boring. When my character is strong, kills fast, and I see it makes an impact on my leveling.

I loved Diablo 2 and Ragnarok Online. I still love them, but I can clearly say how long it will take for me to get to next level. I also like it in Aion, as either you finish quests and level fast, or you are too strong for current level's quests and you can grind on mobs 3-4 levels higher than yours.

You should go play Rappelz.

I got bored at around lvl 113. I had another 60+ levels to go. and they get harder and longer each level.

I don't mind grinding as long as i have music, or vent going. I can't just sit and grind without something else to kind of keep my attention.

I dont mind some grinding for mats or even for xp within reason, bit of music on and a film on my other monitor and it can fly by.

The only issue i have with grinding is if its REQUIRED in order to level and you are stuck competing with every other player on the server for mobs to kill

i dont mind "grinding" in the WAR sense where you can continually take/defend keeps etc, in a sense grinding players... but yea, its pretty mind numbing to go grind the same npc mobs over and over and over...

im really looking forward to leveling in the abyss as soon as i get high enough level.

It depends.. On how fun the actual combat is.
I dont usually enjoy grinding, i hated L2 after lvl 20 for instance. But in Aion i really enjoy the feel of combat, so much so that ive found myself just killing mob after mob without realizing i completed certain quests half an hour ago

Enjoy it ? Well grinding to some iron maiden is always fun but overall ? I'd say I don't really care, I don't hate it.
Sometimes I'd rather grind then try to find quest mobs but that's why I like the quest in which you kill a 100 mobs or more.

Standing at the same spot killing the same mobs over and over for days is not fun. But sometimes people can prefer it anyway. Because its easy and you dont need to focus or think about what you are doing... Its like playing on autopilot. People are sometimes to tired or no longer motivated to do quest and run from zone to zone. Quest based leveling can also become very boring if you play to much and start to become to fed up with it to focus or to want to think about it...

For me, the answer is: Yes...

...as long as the grinding has a goal and is optional.

It can be very relaxing, and the outlook of achieving what you have set out to do (get a special item, reach a specific reputation level) makes it fun. However, grinding should not be a major part of a game - it should be something you can do when/if you don't want to quest/PvP/do dungeons any more and just feel like mindlessly killing stuff.

I like grinding to an extent. The extent being that there has to be a clear goal. Whether it's grinding an instance, a mob or pvp.
