When I play any MMO i assume all the female toons have males playing them simpley b/c most of the time there is. As for myself I have played female characters before simply for the look of them. In GW I find people who play a male elementalist weird as heck. Seriously, the female elementalist look 10x times better. The only time I ever played a female character is if it was impssible for the male characters look completly bad *** in endgame armor. As for acting like a girl ingame I don't. If someone else thinks I am a girl then I let them.
My weirdest experience was when this guy asked me to be his GF. It creaped me out soo much that I didn't log onto that character for a while lol. |

Omg what a silly thread, its just a 3D animated model, your not meant to judge the person just cause they pick a different gender character to play, hardcore OR alt! Theres nothing wrong with it, i'm making the character- not myself!, and as for peeps having something wrong with talking to a guy who is playing a female char, or vice versa- stop flirting in online games then!

i have played as a female charicter before but it wasn't a serious charicter, i would only rly play with them for a few minutes and then change to another char
playing as a female char doesn't rly appeal to me as a serious thing but the only real thing i would do with a female char would be to test out the charicter creation to see what its like for that body type. plus i dont rly like the idea of guys thinkin im a girl, it can get prety awekward and wierd which is one of the main reasons i don't. __________________

One of the biggest issue is males hating on females constantly in mmorpgs. You hear things like "Females don't own computers" . or "chicks" "don't play mmorpgs" I am female and I take a lot of c.r.a.p in Real life for being female. From society's body image push to be thinner( I am 5'11 100 pounds and some modeling agents told me to lose weight!!) even the clothes you have to ware... YOU try rushing down manhattan subway in 2 feet of snow with stiletto heels and stockings while fixing your hair and makeup for work -,- , on top of it all!! you have all these men looking at you like your some kind of meat they want to devour ... " Women can't drive" "shes some dumb chick", "chicks are for a good time" "get that b.i.t.c.h drunk and do her"... society as a whole has a huge problem with females.....even religion!!! ( im not religious) "Females have periods because its a symbolism of pure sin" WTF... anyways these real life issues now creep to my computer!!!! I come home to get away from it all... I change my maxy pad ( I hate my period) grab a bar of chocolate get excited to lay back and play my mmorpg.. and when I log in.. O_O " Your a fat guy living in a basement playing a chick char" .. OMG its the same thing!! :-/..... If you say your female people are like I want to see photos and talk to you on vent and stuff.... and at the beginning I was so proud to be female that I did!!! I would log on vent and share my photos.... But I quickly noticed they would treat you differently in a bad way "I don't want chicks int his raid I want it to actually work" "women should do dishes" ..... So it became very hard to play and socialize with anybody!!.. Then the accepting bunch of boys/men were constantly talking about sex... im NOt joking even in wow the giant G game... I got a pm that reads the following.. which made me quit the game. " Hey sweet t.i.t.s I herd your name is Nicole and your a real chick playing this huh??" "We should talk on msn sometime maybe we will end up meeting so I can eat that petty little den of yours!" I felt like a 6 year old girl in a boy's locker room.... Disgusted......-___- So ladies We have to pick .. A -BE a fat guy playing a girl avatar...... or B- be s.e.x.u.a.l.y harassed ... So after all this I don't understand why guys play female toons!!!!!! ..... Have they no pride for who they are???? .... __________________

In video games I tend to choose characters that more or less resemble me; whenever possible, I always play female characters with long and dark straight hair. I like to identify with my characters, and I simply cannot identify with male characters.
A girl who sees more instances of pretty women on screen who remind her of herself will have a better self-image. Conversely, if a girl doesn’t see many images of such, she will feel worse about herself. I rarely see Asian American females portrayed in leading roles in American mainstream media, so like many other Asian Americans I often prefer manga, anime and Asian pop cultural icons, where Asians do take leading roles. I noticed that after I stopped watching TV, I started feeling much more confident. I think that's also why I prefer video games with a lot of customization options. I can really get into the role of the character and feel more "empowered," so to speak. |

Np with playing female chars.
I dont feel sick when playing female chars.Even i am male.I used to play female chars when i played l2 for example dwarfs females were so cute.I just got bored of male gender with muscle and beard.
I had never been thinking about this before till i saw this thread.I mean there is a choice.Male of female - for everyone.No1 should feel abused or whatever when playing oposite gender.Sometimes oposite gender looks better in some kind of armor or with weapon. That might be reason aswell. cheers ![]() __________________

The most simple reason why someone would play a character that doesn't match their own physical attributes is because they just like to play such a character, without any deep reason behind it. Since it's a game, playing a character doesn't bind you to anything. I'm sure that if games had an extra hardware device that you must wear as pants wich will atomatically cut something off if the wearer selects a certain gender for a character, then you would see very very few female characters in a game. ![]() |
