Ever since Lineage 2, i have played a female character. Not becuase i want sex change or anything, I am happy being a male and proud of who i am. I just rather look at a female rather then a male while i am playing mmo's. Most of the games i have played the female character always looked alot better. And thus I play them. I dont act like a female, when someone tries to hit on me, I tell him straight up, "dude im a dude" and they stop. I dont beg or ask for help either, never have i taken advantage of my gender in game. I personally think its a personal choice really. Now the question in my mind is when a guy playes a male guy in mmo's i sometimes think that maybe they like guys o.O (j/k) :P.

And what is this "I'm gonna make a girl character to get free stuff"? I don't usually get free stuff JUST for being a girl.. Maybe because I never ask for items and most guys believe every female character is played by a male, anyway. I'm one of those people who feels in debt if someone gives me items/money.. ^^; I prefer to help others out, if possible.

I got no problem with guys playing female chars, to be honest i think it's a little weird. But hey, i'm not going to dislike someone over it.

I do feel slightly disappointed when you're having a good chat with someone then a female character walks by and the person you're chatting with ditches you. Especially when that female char is just another guy, this would happen a lot on ragnarok online.

I guess to some people character creation is something important (like myself) and since i'm a guy then i would definitely be creating a male character and try to make him look as bad a.ss as possible rather than creating a hot chick with huge knockers and making her look as s|utty as possible

Like i said, i just can't do it. Not just because it feels weird but for many other reasons too. No hard feelings anyway, if you're a guy in a female character don't flirt with me and we won't have any problems lol.

This whole thread is silly, it doesn't matter who your playing with irl you should treat everyone equally. Theres no logic behind giving girls free loot or helping them first, help goes to those who need it more than those who want it. Strange situations come up though for example: Say your in vent with your guild, your party finds a rare drop there are 2 people who really need it a guy and girl, the guy clearly needs it more, most of the time he will let her have it (for good reason, it seems ungentlemanly, unlike the truth).

As for males who pretend to be female and get free stuff I pity them, but I pity the people giving them stuff more.

there is a big difference between playing a female toon because you want to, and playing a female toon because you can use it to get free stuff from guys.

I usually play male characters but for various reasons I occasionally make female characters. (One time because the class I wanted to make could only be made on female toons [kinda weird but whatever])

i think many of u will agre, if i say that in most games boys just have a bad look. female charakters are always looking nice, sexy and so on. but boys characters are sometimes really ugly. i can understand why men like to play female characters.
i never looked at it in the social way.. hmm from that few point it may seem awkward.^^

the reason is because for a class like a warrior i think that a males suites the roll so i would pick a male char, if its something like a priest then a female fits the roll pretty well

For me it sort of depends on how the characters move oO I remeber in WoW, UD males walked like morons, so i rolled a female. For the rest i really don't care, as long as the looks don't annoy me, I'll play whatever. And lol at people who pretend to be women, that's just sad.

I (male) used to play female characters in WoW. Simple reason: I really preferred to play caster. Have you ever seen how worse the caster robes look on males?

These threads are always funny.

I, myself, tend to play female characters quite alot. It can have several reasons:
- Male caster characters look bad with gear in most cases
- The animations and armor
- The character models

For some reason most game designers can't make male casters/classes with robes look even decent. It tends to really annoy me if I wouldn't like the way my character looks, if the female model looks more realistic I'll go with that.

Pretty much all the armor/gear looks good in Aion from what I've seen, so I'll see how it goes. It really depends on each game.

On a side note: I never ever pretend to be a girl, I've never seen anyone do that actually.

The only thing that I think is just SICK is when you PM a female character "hi sweety", and it's a GUY behind the keyboard, and he just DOESN'T tell you the truth right there. If I was a guy IRL (I am) and another guy stepped up to me and said "hi sweety" I'd make damn sure within 5 seconds he'd know I am NOT interested. But online, I've seen GUYS play along in such conversations up to a lvl where I'd say they must be sexually frustrated IRL...

So imo... if you're a male playing a female character... at least have the decency to admit to other players that you're really male. And yes, this means admitting it BEFORE they hand you over equipment worth millions of gold.

i would never play a female char it just doesnt feel right

but i have nothing against people who do except that it sometimes make akward conversation since i tend to give stuff away to be nice to other people if it just happens to be a male playing a female char the conversation takes an akward turn and in ragnarok online it got realy akward cause of the ingame marrige cause the first response i got was always "i wont marry u im a dude"<- seriously i was only being nice
