Feedback from the testers have been quite positive with a few suggestions to make the game better. Aion's gameplay is similar to both WoW and Lineage 2, somewhat of a merge between the systems. First off let's talk about what most people are worried about; the leveling. Testers have reported that the first 10 levels, max level for this first phase of beta, was effortless and mostly gained through quest completion. The quests themselves are interesting and some of which are humorous, like when a lumberjack asks you to steal the clothes of a nymph bathing so he could persuade her to marry him... Odd? It's based on a Japanese myth or fairy tale, and stealing the nymph's clothes isn't that easy, if she sees you, you fail ^_^ When you have completed all the quests in a certain area not only do you gain a title but Npc's will gather around you, clapping and dancing, celebrating your success. How's that for interaction? There's also missions that will take your through Aion's main story and will move you from one region to another.


Skills and stats for each class are not selectable, you simply gain them after leveling as we've seen in a lot of games. What you can do to set yourself apart is collect and buy 'stygmas' something like badges you can equip that will affect what kind of weapon or armor you can wear, there's currently 13 kinds of stygma. The animation for walking, running and fighting needs to be tweaked as their still is a bit of ice skating similar to L2, and the problem with rangers being able to shoot backwards is also being looked into. The guild system is also similar to L2, at level 1 you need 10 members for your guild, and you not only need to pay to get the guild setup but you need to keep making payments for your guild to gain status and levels. At level 2 you can invite more then 10 members and so on. I've seen some people who've played L2 who think this is just fine, but myself I'm a bit worried about it. Though what worries me more is the fact that everything in Aion so far seems to cost good quina, Aion's in game currency, to get access to anything. So guilds cost quite a bit, but since it's a group effort it shouldn't be too bad, but then the crafting system also requires 10,000 quina just so you can talk to the trainer NPC and get started with your craft. Ouch?! I guess it'll depend on how easily quina can be made, but this doesn't do anything to dismiss the fear that gold farmers will also invade this NCsoft title..

AAH!!!! U know what sucks, im with LOTRO at this moment and its starting to bore me, but im not into starting a new MMO for 3-4 months and switch to L2 again afterwards.. but maybe i could try out Lineage 2 again or so.

I don't know about you guys, but I actually love this guild concept. This way, guilds are only developed by close groups of friends. You get some buddies and start a level 1 guild and function like that. Make more friends through connections and guild activities and you all work together to upgrade and welcome more into the fold, and so on.

As for the trades, I imagine it's made like that to discourage people from doing everything (assuming this is possible) and focus on one trade. As for myself, I'm definitely cheffing it up.

Every MMO must have a long stream of story based mission quests. That's one humongous + FFXI had.
