There are some valid reasons to use click to move, WASD may be a superior and interactive movement scheme, but you have to remember, your using a mouse in one hand, which has a minimum of 2 buttons, and all the other keys are together with your movement keys. This means if you have alot of dynamic skills and actions, or even an action type combat scheme, you have to select movement and attacks or other actions with the same hand. It is not like a console game with a controller which allows you to move with one hand and select a few buttons, aim with the other hand and use a few buttons. In comparison to a controller, there are just as much or more buttons on the aiming side of the control, and most actions are often used on that side.
I'm all for imput movement and action based combat, but the general design of computer controls are designed to click on stuff, when you consider FPS and games of that nature where fully controled movement is being applied, your only activating two to abilities at once, and cycling through equipment for additional effects. Unless 8 key mouse or controllers become common place for computer games, there will always be a natural inclination to use movement options reasonable to the computer setup. Perhaps the best way to introduce a manual movement game of this nature is through console or computer with controller use. On the flip side, when your movement requires manual imput, it is possible to que alternate actions with directional combination the same way most console games do, allowing you to offer a system like actions games where forward + attack = one attack or combination, wile backward + attack = another attack, easily allowing several attacks and abilities to be qued with a few buttons in combination. Pros and Cons... Pros and Cons. __________________ ![]() May the Balaur overcome ALL! Mua Ha Ha Ha Ha! |

I use wasd on habit. After all those years of Starcraft and MMOs, certain things get beat into you. Wasd is among the first. Circle strafing and other things like that are irrelevant to me in choosing a playstyle.

I definitely am a big fan of WASD. I really hope the WASD movement in this game is fluid and well put together.
