See, I'm so used to WASD that it doesn't really change my movement at all... I only use 1-5, but then I also use alt+1-5, ctrl+1-5, and shift+1-5. Since my pinky (shift and ctrl) isnt used for anything else that's not an issue, and my thumb (alt) is just on the space bar, and there really isn't a reason to bunny hope in a non-shooter, so that's not issue. Then it's just a matter of moving and being able to hit the keys... Honestly, I've never had a situation where my movement has prevented me from using the skills I want to use. I keep my most used skills on all the variations of 3 and 4, because I can easily hit either with either my pointer or middle finger, meaning I can use the other finger for movement. It might take a bit to get used to, but once you do it's very nice.

Amen. In my opinion, a "lock-on" type system would significantly reduce the PVP experience. AION developers: Please do not do this or change it asap!

That's what I'm worried about with WASD - using hotbar keys at same time as movement..
I've only played click-to-move games. Maybe I should utilize WoW's 10-day free trials to practice so I don't appear as a total noob. ~.~

It gets really easy after you practice. I go to the point where I could fight mobs without looking at the screen, you just get so into it you don't realize. Unless you have really small fingers, then it's harder to move /and/ attack at the same time. :/
My sister had to buy a smaller keyboard to play lol.

Laptop ftw... 17" of raw gaming sex, baby! my laptop has a numpad. I would say I've got small(er) hands for a guy, but I still don't have issues with traditional keyboards... my laptop definitely makes it easier though.

About training/learning use of wasd and hotkey :

FPS would be better training than a mmorpg.
Bind movement to esdf and weaponswitch to r,t,g,h,v,c,a,z,q,w (for example!) esdf is nice cause you got the little "thing" on the key "F" to quickly reconize your movement without having to watch your keyboard.

Don't try to bind all in once, just movement + 4 weapons at the begining, and then add binding one by one.

if you are on a 2h warrior or pally that takes 1.9 seconds to swing his axe, in between swings are you gonna stand there taking damage? hell no im gonna jump around like a moron and only get near him every 2 seconds

Well it's similar to a real fight, you usually try to avoid a hit rather than stay infront of the target while waiting to get owned.
