When A hero Entres An Area

I understand that a lot of you guys came from L2. I also understand that it's another NCsoft game. But if as many details of the game are going to be "just like L2" then what would be the point of a new franchise?

Personally, I think NCsoft should award certain players with Hero status. People can't just grind to get it, they have to get noticed by the community and NCsoft.

This one is itching to become a hero. Imagine ten people fighting this one's assassin at once in mid-air, and a burst of Divine Power kills all ten at once o.O.

Or an epic hero Elyos vs. hero Asmodian fight, with a bunch of "minions" from both sides surrounding them.

I highly doubt its going to be some low level "noticed" person who gets Hero status. I am sure its going to be someone who is high level, acheived certain quests, and so on. Even if we arent just looking at Lineage, most games that I know of that have a "Hero" system, the player/s have achieved alot. I dont mind if there are Heros in a game, it gives players a goal. I'd like to see the heros balance from one side to another and yet be a force to be reckoned with among a small group of non hero players. Also would be fair to have it limited maybe. To give other players who have earned it, to have a shot at it. !No HERO CHAT PLEASE! Another thing I dont want to see is how they set up L2s Hero. Olympiad. Heros in L2 RARELY earned being a hero...most of them bought their toons or botted them. Even when you look past that, most of the time you had piont passing.
I agree with you druid on the normal sized hero. Giving them bigger wings would definately be cool especially since you cant use them at all times. Longer flying time. I am sure their stats will be boosted or hero type skills/spells. I doubt though that even farmers will be Hero, maybe a toon bought from a farmer, but not the actual farmer.

because aion is newer than l2...its NCSoft dude.


and imo the hero thing wont be implemented until the game is out for a few months atleast

I hope theres some way OTHER than quests to be a Hero. Like winning a certain competition or something...Some PvP way thats balanced like duels.

I also hope they get huge wings and an aura of some sort. Itd be sweet...

First, I want some details, then I can give my thoughts about it. But briefly:
L2 like heros system? F*** NO!!!!!
Ever heard of "cancel sticks"? Hero dread? Valor?

If Aion heros will be chosen in any method that is even remotely similar to "the olympiad" - NO!
Feed needs to die. Ally-wide equipment swap needs to die (item binding FTW).

If they have skills anyware as overpowered as those infamous skills in L2 - NO!

Besides - as You cannot attack your own fraction (or did I miss something?) and as there will be no interaction (apart from PvP) between the two races it can be safely assumed that each side will have the exact the same amount of heros (each class in each race). So at least this part ("we lost because you have more heros!") will be sorted out.

EDIT: For those who want us to "quit with L2". Sorry - Aion is just a newer game from the same developer as L2. So the similarities are unescapable.

It's the same company... but Aion staff has nothing to do with L2 and they never did

I heard aion was known as "Lineage Forever" in it's early stages can't get anymore like L2 than that lol....ofc I have no proof of this....so purely a rumor.
