I wonder if it's more comprable to L2 or SCO. As mentioned many times in this thread, Lineage 2 had numerous heros based upon factors of points etc. In SCO (now it has a new name dunno what it is), or Space Cowboy Online, there was a racial leader who was assigned each month and who had access to special items and had a huge glow so on the battle field everyone knew where he was.

I'm personally a fan of a system which allows for more than one "hero," since only having 1 or as little as 2 or 3 would empower those who play the most and grind the most (which isn't neccessarily bad) to always outdo even the "semi-hardcore" gamers.

I'm interested to see what factors will be involved in choosing heros and their numbers (assuming it hasn't been mentioned, at which point I fail) . I think having heros on your side will go a long way towards promoting realm pride and guild pride, both of which are good.

Edit: Apparently it's only 2 per server, oh well.

As long as PvP is based around more than the number of heroes I don't mind too much. But, if one side pretty much always wins because they have 7 heroes and the other side only has 5, then I definitely won't like this too much.

It just comes down to, how many players is a hero worth? If he's worth 3 players, that's fine. But requiring an entire party (or more) to take one down is just silly, and it's going to frustrate the many players who never have a shot at making one. More than that, it will just turn PvP into a Hero contest and make many non-hero players feel like fifth wheels.
