When A Hero Entres An Area

we are also working on a “Hero” system. Becoming a hero will require a lot of work. Heroes will act as human boss mobs, much more difficult for enemies to kill than ordinary players. People will know when a hero enters an area. //Ken Choi's words

Qustion : I was wondering how will this hero look like.
Do this "hero" have a big shiny iteam or is he/she bigger then the normal players or do he/she have
more beautiful wings then other players have.

something like owners of cursed weapons in L2. Crazy high stats, messages when the person with Zariche (cursed sword) enters the area e.t.c.
No info how to become a hero at all

wow hero class...

probably will have a distinct aura around the player, how they will do this when individual armor sets will also emit an aura is beyond me. prob special weapon and armor set with additional passive buffs and + hp +mp, but i would not expect any other physical changes such as size.

.... dont really like the idea of a hero being stronger than the other players. i think it just leads to more smack talk in chat channel.

i am a hero i pwnt ju ..lololol

i owned your hero stfu !!!! ................ and so on and so on till we all get sick.

Making them physically larger than normal people would be a very blizzard thing to do.

I hope they're just normal-sized badasses (actually, I'd prefer they don't exist at all, but since they will). Different wings would be good, like an absolutely massive wingspan full of swirly designs n' such.

I just think it's a bad idea because the only people that will be heros are characters from the farming companies and regular burnouts who PvP in shifts. Neither of which is me.

I thought the "hero" was when you reach the status of Daeva? I could be wrong but that's what it seems like. I mean those questions are actually pretty old...perhaps before they gave the "hero" Daeva.

Just a thought though.

I Agree with the wings but i dont think it will be those farming people or those burnout pvp players. What i think it will at 100% be a Hardcore player who will be a hero but. it can also be a person who have done many nice things or been very evil :P?

The heroes in L2 were easy to pick out, so I'm sure they will be in Aion too.
I just hope they don't make Heroes too overpowered. :/

They already said they'll have higher stats, so they'll be at least a little OP, but I'm hoping not a lot.

it will probably be identical to L2...Im hoping they have skills that benefit their faction nearby, not just their clan, although either would be cool. And a fight or battle may come down to which side has more heroes there (a bad thing like l2)

Well somehow I doubt that it will come down to how many heroes a side has. Considering that I think there will be a set number of Heroes per side.

In L2 it was unbalanced because you needed alot of numbers to make up for the Hero Skills not the hero itself. So if NCSoft thinks about the skills this time it should equal out. Something like a hero is worth 4 or 5 people would be ok, not a hero is worth 10 - 15 people.

I hated that... I left my clan to join one with heroes cause I was sick of losing.... Lol.

heroes cant keep valour up nonstop...they have UD, berserk mass fear, etc.

If you have a fight that lasts more then the length of a heroic valour, then 2 heroes will beat 1 hero.

If its mass pvp..10 heroes will beat 5 because the side with 10 can keep hero buffs up twice as long, more ud's and survive longer, etc...

assuming heroes dont use skills like ultimate defence, with just valour, it really doesnt matter who has more heroes, as long as the buff never runs out.

You're thinking too much L2

Starting thinking Aion.

So I repeat, hopefully NCSoft thinks about the skills this time and it should equal out. Something like a hero is worth x people would be ok, not a hero is worth 10 people.

If you want to discuss the mechanics of L2, head over to the arcade and ill discuss with you about how 5 heroes can beat 10 heroes.

Any which way, I think that there aren't enough details about the hero system for Aion and I don't even know if it is something that will be implemented as part of the go live.

I think its pretty low on their list of priorities so far, as it has only come up twice that I have read about.
