Nope, I liked the way the PvP zones were in WoW. How there was open PvP everywhere, but depending on where you were you might not be able to attack till' they attack. I'm hoping Aion is exactly like that. It'd make me happy.

I would be extremely dissapointed if there were areas where you had to flag first to have a pvp...its a game about a freaking war...This game is about PVP and thats why I'm buying it!

I wouldn't, because some people don't want to participate in PvP, so they should be able to play and not get killed every 5 minutes.
Obviously I don't want a lot of areas like that, but it'd be nice to have a few to go and chill and not worry about 2349851723 people chasing you.

To be honest, I hope there is "safe zones" as well as "war zones" ofcoures there should be quest whit higher rewards in a pvp zone then a pve. but this gives a fin risk vs reward, as well as catering to more playstilles and want "force" you to deal whit PK all day long.

I've heard somewhere that NC is prepared for fights in the factions, not only between them, don't rememebr they saying you can't kill another Elyos in the Abyss.

The problem is in the rest of the world. One thing we do know, it's not a free pvp world so you can't just pk someone of your faction for no reason, but don't know if there will be a manner to declare war on another guild of the same faction, and if this would abilitate pvp on the usual non-pvp areas.

Has anyone else thought about the balance, i can see more the pvp enclined players rolling asmodians (as witnessed in WoW)

Another thing that bothers me is the random portals. It could just endup being a gankfest. i can imagine the more pvp enclined to go through the portals where available, im sure you can see where im going here. It could end up as pvpers vs levelers (as witnessed in L2) this would get very dull very fast.

In the pub today, a friend brought along his group of WoW friends.

The most heated debates and drama in their circle stemmed out of who caused wipes and so on at (instanced) raid bosses.
It's pretty sad when you can quench all of their heated accomplishments by letting them know they're still fighting pieces of AI code.

Wow PvP keeps getting more imbalanced with every patch, and they just keep buffing up classes a few at a time and then the others start whining, perpetuating the whole thing to infinity.

And Gravity, those zones in WoW were alright at the start, but the instanced nature of it and lack of pvp rewards, outside artificial arena type arranged matches killed it's pvp.

I am quite aware that Aion's not going to be L2, but I still believe and dream that RvR's going to be the central focus of the game not instances.

Well..the balance could be off a bit....but from the looks of the guilds being formed on this board...most people are rolling Ely. And the portals, I believe, connect two areas of the same lvl range...so it shouldn't be too much of a gankfest. There's always the chance that a higher lvl could be passing through that area..but nothing to be too concerned about.

1v1 / set match PvP can be hard to balance. I don't think WoW even really tries to balance it though.

RvR with capture and goal-oriented fights would be easier to balance simply because superior strategy can trump pure class overpoweredness.

Also, instanced PvP can work. No one will say Guild Wars is a pure PvE game, but all of the PvP there take place in instances.

It'd certainly be a huge let-down for me if PvP was limited solely to the Abyss. It takes away the feeling of it actually being a war xD;

I hope there is always a chance of being ganked after you leave the low level saftey zone just like in RFO. It really makes you feel like you are at war with the other faction. As for pking your own faction I am against it simply because it isn't worth it. If a person is herrasing you of the same faction and you pk him he will just respawn and do it again. If you report the person then they could be banned which is more of an effective way of dealing witht some noob who keeps bothering you. I also think a pk your own race system would be abused by higher levels that are bored or PLed noobs that can't pvp with someone their own level.

Well I mean for noobs it could be understandable that they are behind their city, and theres practically no way an enemy could get to them through the city/npc's..

But as you get higher level you move closer to the abyss and realize its a huge war (level 10) and its open RvR pvp from there.
