PvP outside the abyss ?

The area the player fights in doesn't appear to be the Abyss which is indicative of other zones where you can freely PvP with the opposing faction, similar to World of Warcraft. The Korean text in the center of the screen after the player enters the portal probably holds additional information as to the zone's PvP status (i.e. World of Warcraft's "Contested/Alliance/Horde Territories") but since I have no proficiency in the language this is just pure speculation.

if this is pvp everywhere i wont be buying this game. i rather go play a free mmo. as i heard it wont be free pvp everywhere, i wanna be able to go hunt and farm peacefully.

Well i believe in the interviews they said that the portals aren't always open to the pve areas so there isn't pvp everywhere all the time.

i just hope the people who want to pve in peace dont pick the same side i am on :O

srsly, this game is pvp, if you want to exp in peace inside instances, go get a game that isnt based on a war...or maybe WoW...they ruined the whole RP war scenario of that game...

Really though, it seems like everything major in this game, castles, raids, gear will all be gotten through pvp. Your whole faction advances as a whole, mostly based on pvp. I say we organize all the people who want pvp and know about this game prior to release, all pick one server and let the carebears do their 4 3 2 1 stare on another server


and also they said in interviews there will be zones outside the abyss even for high levelling up on either faction, but it wont be anywhere near as good as the abyss...the whole focus of the game is to get peopel into the abyss and force confrontation/pvpve over everything. If you plan on logging in each night and making a party with some friends in a peacefull zone, then maybe this game isnt for you.

Hmmm no, the game caters to both playstyles, most information we have been getting is about PvP but that doesn't mean that's all there is to it.

Yes but the information ive gotten is that the best benefits are in the abyss, where pvp is a constant factor....

And lets say all the elyos are carebears leveling in peace zones, while all the asmodians are farming the abyss and pvp points...which side do you think is going to be better?

I guess its important to have the variety, but i dont want these carebears on my team

They should simply label one server as "Carebears R Us" so the rest of us can avoid it..

Well variety is a good thing, but why would you want them on your team, they take up space of someone who could be "helping" you on the battle field.. at the same time if they are on the other team then they aren't fighting you giving you less of a challenge which still sucks.. so..

edit: However since the pvp isn't instanced in BG's like in wow it won't be horrible, but its always more fun when everyone is particpating in the fight.

I don't mean pking someone over and over again as herassment. I mean someone ksing or training monsters to you. Action like that will cause someone to pk someone else. It is better if the person is banned because killing them will not do much.

I agree sucky team mates, well suck. But that doesn't mean a heavy PvEr can't be a good PvPer.. It could very well be that they enjoy both and are good at both.
On the flip side if I gleaned correctly from recent info, it'll be a good idea for PvP people and PvE people to befriend each other for access to castles and create some very nice items.. If you want to keep your carebears in the back or in the kitchen that's cool, heck I wouldn't mind, but I've known a few PvE/crafting and role playing people who were very good at the PvP.

Get off your damn high horse.

while pvp is a main part of end game, there are going to be more than that way to attain high end gear, as stated numerous times. I for one enjoy pvp, so dont take this as coming from a "carebear" which by the way, is a ludicrous label to people who enjoy the PvE side of the game, and attain gear that way. I could easily label you as a short sighted individual.

Your hypothetical scenario of one side all doing one thing and one doing another, will never, ever happen, so the point you are making is quite moot.

Both sides will have a mixture of the two, servers will obviously have slightly different quirks but essentially youll have both types of players on each side, so instead of asking people not to be on the same server as you, perhaps you should try to deal with it, or is that too much for you to handle?



Here are the current facts and are currently in game at this point ;

-Full Open Factional based PvP in the abyss.
-Portals that will randomly open for short periods of time into other factions areas for "Occasional confrontation"
-Arena (currently for fun)

Anything else is rumor only or being discussed
