[Translation] Macros

Macros

First, there are four things you can do with macros option:
Set the name of the macro, add a tooltip, select an icon, and enter commands.

Skills
add the following command:
/skill [name]
Example: /skill Healing Light II

Items
You can either drag the item into the macro window from your inventory or type /use [item] manually. Dragging the item into the window will do type the said command automatically.

Hotbar/quickbar
/quickbar x y z
Example: /quickbar 3 1 2

The set of numbers indicate the following: Location, page, and skill number. The first number indicates which hotbar you wish to use (top, right, bottom, etc) then the second number the page of the hotbar (akin to WoW's shift + 1,2), and z indicates the actual slot in which the skill is located.

Delay Command
/delay x
Deactivates the macro for x amount of seconds. Most skills in Aion have 2 second delays after being cast, so this command is needed when placing multiple skill commands in a single macro. Ex) /delay 2

Select Command
/select %partyx

Selects the xth party member. %self selects oneself, %previous selects the previously clicked target, %pet the pet, %autotarget targets the closest target in proximity.

Tell Commands
/party, /legion, /yell, /general, /whisper, etc..

Attack Commands
/attack

Swap Weapons
Swaps the set of weapons being used for another. Same effect as Shift + Z.

Activate Soulstone
Activates/deactivates the soulstone equipped.

Variables
/var 1 Blessing of Life I
Registers Blessing of Life I in variable slot 1. Skills registered this way can be easily activated using '%var1' command. Used to prevent from exceeding the character limit of the macro.

There are 10 variables total, from 0 to 9. The skills registered in variables can be confirmed in the 'Variables' tab.

Hmm /legion...does that mean we call "Guild/Clans" Legions. I didn't know, oh and macro's are very useful although I was never able to do very good ones that could do multiple actions with one button XD.

I was kind of worried about macros being too automated and make the game too easy... But they are just like L2 macros.

About that legion... I like the name Not the standard form of guild/clan/alliance/whatever

never really used macors for anything cause both knight online and 2moons didnt use them as well as other games i played like flyff

Anyways, was just gonna say ya there are games where they don't have or are unnecesary, then there are games like FFXI and etc, where they are pretty much a necesity (in my opinion). I would hope that in Aion they will be vital and needed, but not a must, must have. Although I'm a big fan of Macros.

On a second note. So will Guilds be named Legions in Aion? I couldn't tell if that was speculation or fact.

Wow! Those macro commands remind me of programming classes long done. Not sure if I'll ever use them, and even if I do I probably won't use them well, lol.

I have never used macros, like almost everyone here, even though many people have stated it has helped them significantly. (It reminds me of setting Phrases in the WC3 Banlist.)

the korean version of the name for clans/guilds in Aion is 레기온, which if romanised according to Revised Romanization of Korean, would be written 'region'(pronounced reh ghi ohn, much as you would read レギオン in japanese). The word in korean doesn't sound like a native korean word, so I'd assume it's a corruption of the english word legion, which makes a lot more sense. take note that korean, too, is a victim of Engrish among many other east asian languages.

just reminds me of illegal player made bots and macros so just cause ncsoft adds it means its not the same as a macro hack someone made ....lol...to me its the same so i will never use one in any game including ffxi
