Doesn't sound too bad at the moment. Ofcourse it has its down sides, however it only being in closed beta, hopfully that will give them te time to listen to the response they have got and change/add some things.

Take a look at WoW for example it has 9 classes (omg!!) and automatic stat distribution (OMG again) and its the most popular mmorpg ever and on top of that the differnt starting zones are minor gimmik that most people dont even care about anyway. And as for this not being for hardcore pvp players as you say, honestly ... how the hell would you know? none of us even know how the skill "talent" system works or how the stigma will shape up so if you going to make posts like this one try to not sound single minded about everything you say. |

Ehh, the new information doesn't really bother me. No game is perfect and as much as i'd like Aion to be, I know it won't. The game is also just in it's closed beta stage.
If this is as much of a problem as the review makes it out to be, then NCSoft will probably get many complaints about it from their testers. and the past has shown that they are putting in an effort to listen and respond to feedback. How they could change this issue i'm not sure, maybe add more faction-specific skills or change some of the mobs around for each faction. In any case, I have faith that the game will pull through and be amazing ![]() |

i always took opinions of beta testers serious, they are neutral and experienced gamers, and normally right in their critics... so atm iam pretty concerned |

I have no problem with comments on the interview, i do however have a problem with the fact that your taking shots at people and saying
"they surly not aiming for experienced MMO players and PVPers maybe they wanna conquer the market of housewives" which is why i made my post in the first place, these arnt comments they are annoying statements about an unfinished game you havent even played and we shouldent even be "seeing" yet at all. And yes i agree that they were a bit slack with the 2 races being similar but nobody at this point knows if it will stay this way as its very simple for them to simply reskin the current mobs in the starting zones and alter a few things with a simple content patch as was pointed out previously. Dont think im trying to start a little text war with you or anything like that but your going to give alot of people the wrong idea about an unfinished product when you say things like that and we dont want people turned off this game now do we?. |

I have the same concern as dagan. It seems they're making the game too simple. I've already heard automatic stat distribution is attempting to not bother players. One of the things I missed when I quit Ragnarok Online to play L2 was stat distribution, being able to build, for example, a melee mage focusing on the development of a skill tree. That's where the whole feeling of 'uniqueness' is. To have different ways to build your char.
I'm pretty concerned bout the sentence: the only choice you can make is to choose a class |

From what ive seen with the stigma system id imagine it is possible to make non linear characters like a melee caster for example like you say, i had a few pics of the skill talent trees and they looked huge but i cant seem to find them again.
even so i dont see why the game would need a flawed system such as stat distribution simply because of the ammount of people that mess up a character get annoyed and quit the game thinking its crap,Then on the other hand you have people who find the perfect balance of stats and skills and become invincible. IMO this kills the "skill" side of the game unless everybody does the same thing then this only makes the game even harder to balance there are much better and more forgiving methods of creating diversity in characters rather than having a hit or miss system that can hinder gameplay and ultimatly make sombody hate the game. just my 2 cents seeing as ive played almost every mmorpg thats worth playing to a decent lvl and sorry bout the wall of text i was bored and got carried away. |
