They are kinda like score boards for pvp. They tell you and others who you killed, the involved parties, who got the kill shot, and what items were lost. Its a pretty nice way to show proof that you owned someone w/o making a fraps.

Oh... my... god... Where I can understand the idea behind this, I openly confess that the very idea of any type of "kill boards", PvP score listings and so on, gives me the shivers... I'm just biased to the bone.
I've seen what this can lead to in an immature community and how much can some players be driven to have the highest number showing his PvPs. How much hatred it can lead to, how much ****talk, in and out of game threats and so on.
Any of such boards or counters will be like a razor in rabies infested monkey's hands. No, skratch that. TWO RAZORS. Or three even (add one to it's tale).

LMAO......you get no reward for the highest number of kills or anything it is just an indicator of what what happened in a pvp fight. EVE has the most mature players you will meet in any game because it takes a lot to become uber and it can all be lost in a second.

Well in EVE, there is no point **** talking or trying to get the highest amount of kills because there is no honor in killing rookies(newbs) and you will get ganked yourself by the community for doing so.

I do see your point about how this could become a bad thing. It all depends on the maturity of the community.

You don't seem to realize the power of "bling" - YOU have the biggest score, YOUR e-***** is the biggest, everyone else is a "looser", "noob", "carebear", <insert random insult>. Ganking noobs? Really, who cares in L2? 30 lvls higher toons come and one-shot you all day long. Why? "Because we can, *****es!". The most common reply.

Just because there is seemingly no point in doing something (due to lack of games support for this or that) does not mean it won't be abused by certain players "for teh lulz".
I've already seen posts on different forums (Aion ones) like "I'm gonna go to their starting village and keep killing them fukers, muhahaha!!!". Mature, isn't it?

Like I said it depends on the maturity of the community. people who play EvE are generally older and more mature.

EVE killboards has no score on it on how many people you have killed it just shows who you killed, what items were lost, damage delt/received, and who got the killing blow. I am only familiar with the way kill boards in EvE are used so i am not familiar to the way they were abused in L2 since i never played it.

If it is true about what you said about people already planning to gank well obviously this feature will not be good for this game. The people who tend to say things like that are all 1 shots in my book.
