Having P2P usually makes the gaming community a lot more serious(not in the sense that they don't have fun, in the sense that they are a lot more mature IN GENERAL, you don't act as as much of an *** when you can get banned an account your have spent a lot of money on).

But the difference in quality is undeniable. The difference in budget the 2 different kind of games have is huge. One game will make a few thousands a month, one game will make millions of dollars a month, and a lot of that money will be reinvested into the game itself, to ensure that the players stay there. The stakes aren't the same.

I can tell you at least as someone who has played both, I don't think I could ever go back to a free MMO.

I pay for quality, and $15 a month, which is the price of a movie and a popcorn, for that HUGE difference in quality and, thus, my personal enjoyment, is very well worth it for all the hours I will be putting on that game.

It does not even need to be argued, look at the numbers of subscribers of P2P games vs Free to play games. The numbers speak for themselves. It is not a matter of opinion.

If you are happy with your free to play games, fine by me, enjoy yourself. There is nothing wrong with that. You just don't know what you are missing, and maybe it's better this way, since, unlike me, you can still play free games.(I currently play free Exsteel myself, and after the first minute, and now many hours, I've noticed the difference and I know I won't stick around long.)

But others like me are looking for a better experience, and that kind of rewarding deep involvement can only be found on P2P. It is a whole other level, and like everything in life, better is more expensive.

On a side note, just sightly related to the subject at hand, P2P also makes for a much better economy in the MMO area, thus more incentive for companies to develop great products. It litteraly drives the genre, so to speak.

Oh and I forgot, you said that 16$ was "outrageous", 16$ for a month of enjoyment any time you want it, that's outrageous? The stuff you get for that price is barely enjoyment then it's gone, while this gives you a month of it.

He's not a cheapskate, he's probably just some kid who's not old enough to pay for the monthly subscription He's never tried WoW or any other P2P games, so I'd assume free games define the MMORPG genre for him. You get what you pay for really, if Aion were going to be a free game I really wouldn't bother looking forward to its release.

These games are constantly updated so i guess you kno there is some kind of money being spent.

*reminiscing time* I one sold an item in a game for $200 (Real money). In Rappelz people spend HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS A DAY!!! just on that one game. *reminiscing time over*

Now I never played WoW but all I kno is that there is a $16/mo. fee, which i think is outragious! (I dont mind paying for a game but as long as its not WoW prices im okay) Also im not aware if they have a cash shop type stuff going on in that game but i can bet it makes less money than Rappelz (if its only money intake is monthly fees)

P.S. Sorry for CAPS i know alot of people get mad at it, i dont know why but hey!

im sorry but tried and played all those F2P games and they are crap....P2P games normally have better support then F2P and also P2P normally dont have gold spammers

But honestly, I don't mind paying-- but it's just that I'd also like to see some other payment options. I dunno, maybe like XX amount of dollars for XX amount of hours. Oftentimes, I can only play during a few odd times every once in a while; I understand that "then maybe I shouldn't play" or whatever, but it's still something I'd really like to see. Otherwise, I'd almost feel like I'm wasting the time I'm not playing...or something like that. xD
Meh, of course I'll still pay if there's only the monthly fee, but I can dream.

Thats not even a good enough reason... 1) You dont like playing with kids? learn to deal with it. 2)Quality and Support? Free games have that... what kind of support you are looking for? (As for Quality Rappelz is known for its uber graphics... I cant lie WoW has some nice graphics, I dont know how to campare garphics but Rappelz and WoW have matched graphics quality to me)I don't know what other type of Quality you are talking about. (maybe bugs etc. but, i dont want to make a huge post.

Meh im cheap man.... Im sure plenty of other people think $15 is alot.

Free games have consistant flow of content. I know people in WoW get bored too thats why they come to Rappelz. (point being whats boredom got to do with it? It depends on what you are looking for in a game that makes it Boring) i.e. People play Runescape (free) BORING AS HELL TO ME!, yet for people that play that either dont have the comp for the game to download, or find something in that game (i dont know what) that is very fun., Maplestory Boooooring (2d? GAY!) yet people that play the game dont find it boring.

WTF....what rock are you living under....rappzle graphics suck maybe not for a F2P game but doesnt stand up to alot of games out there that are P2P

Rappelz is wayy updated and waaaayyy different from that time you've played (I played rappelz since ver.1)
Because the development of Aion >>>>>>> Rappelz.

Not only that, Gpotato didn't even develop Rappelz, they simply brought it outside of Korea. Gpotato is also tiny compared to NCsoft. So no, they cannot do it for free.

i have only hope that NCsoft's not planning to do same think as WoW.Im talking about updates. Every new udpate u have to spend around 40$ /40euro or more.Lineage 2 was great with that. Every Cronic was free.

Hmm 15$/month is not alot but in some countries is a lot...

Wow updates were always free....
Only exception is The Burning Crusade, which is the only Expansion and came out nearly 3 years after WoW did.

WoW must have doubled it's content through free patches. There has only been 1 expansion you had to buy in 4 years and soon a second. They are major updates and Blizzard will still add a lot of content through free patches(incoming patch 2.4 has a few new instances and many new quests, faction rep, ect). A lot of MMOs have had a lot more expansions than that, some making you pay for every new content they add in. 40 bucks every 2-3 years to "refresh" a good game isn't so bad imo.

lol maple story or gtfo.

Seriously you think that **** is good? the only almost good f2p ive ever actually experienced was SRO, almost. P2P keeps thousands of morons out of the game and most of these so called "games" are 'top rated' as you put it through the vast number of nyerks that play that crap.
Yes if your wondering, i did lol irl when i saw maple stories website.
