I never knew of people that WANTED monthly! There are games that are free and you dont have to play monthly. Like Archlord, Lineage, Guild wars, Rappelz (which i play). There are plenty of games that are free and are top rated.

Yes, there are alot of free games out right now, but not Next gen stuff, and if you dont know allready, this game is epic, nough said :P, and a game that doesnt have a monthly free or w/e cant have the production value of a game like Aion, happy gaming! :P

ummm well now, it takes money to make something, anything, a game is no different, you put money into a game to make it, i dont know how much more detail is needed on this....

There are 'some' games that are free-to-play and done pretty well. But not all of them are great. But since they do have a shop that someone posted saying it was to purchase items to change your character's appearance only. So i would still play it even if it were a monthly fee of 9.95-14 dollars a month. BUT I hope for the $10/month but nothing is set in stone yet we haven't even seen Beta

I see you havent been playing a few free games? Well all i kno is that in Rappelz (since i play) The game is free BUT! people pay (optionally through a Cash Shop.) as in Archlord, and MapleStory. I Personally kno that if there are good enough items in the cash shop people will spend TONS! of money into the game. These games are constantly updated so i guess you kno there is some kind of money being spent.

*reminiscing time* I one sold an item in a game for $200 (Real money). In Rappelz people spend HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS A DAY!!! just on that one game. *reminiscing time over*

Now I never played WoW but all I kno is that there is a $16/mo. fee, which i think is outragious! (I dont mind paying for a game but as long as its not WoW prices im okay) Also im not aware if they have a cash shop type stuff going on in that game but i can bet it makes less money than Rappelz (if its only money intake is monthly fees)

Personally I WANT to pay to play. There is a reason why pay to play games have MILLIONS of players and free games have THOUSANDS.

You pay for quality and for support. I know that paying will eliminate many kids that can't pay, and give money to the game company to support the game and develop new content.

I have played both free games(like GW, Exsteel) and Pay to Play(like Planetside, WoW) and there is a huge difference.

If Aion is free, I am not interested in playing it.

P.S.: Cash shops are the most horrible creation in the game industry.

Even if you were lucky to find a FREE game with the quality of a good P2P, is paying like 15$ that horrible to you? I'm aware some struggle with economy, but i'm really sorry to say that if you're that poor.. you're one poor bastard. Get a job

People generally don't like cash-shops. It gives the richer people an advantage.

Erm, I'm inclined to think that what you did wasn't exactly legal.

Wow is 14.99(15)/Month. This allows them to hire mods and do more upgrades to their game without giving unfair advantages to those with deeper pockets, so-to-speak.

WoW is $15 bucks, but I guess 1 dollar difference isn't that comforting. Anyways, if you want a high quality game with a consistent flow of content, expect P2P. If you want a simple game that you can play and get bored of after a month or two, then keep playing MapleStory and Rappelz.

I'd much rather pay to play than pay to pay. Paying for the right to pay doesn't make much sense for the consumer, but if NCSoft can pull if off they'll be rolling in cash.
