Wing discussion

since there are very few details regarding aion in general and the whole wing system specifically i thought i'd just make some up

these are just some thoughts and ideas about the ol wings deal in aion

we've seen that the chosen have pretty white feathery wings and there's a whole thread discussing fallen wings (dragon-like, bat-like, metal, superman flying style, etc)

i was just pondering class specific or customizable wings. so as we progress a priest's wings would look different from a warrior's wings and so on and so forth. or a quest/npc that would let you change color of wings, slightly altered but pre-set wing designs, choosing certain designs to put on your wings, etc

i'm not a programmer so i don't know how hard these things would be to implement, just would be kinda fun and interesting

what are your thoughts?

vids show dif colors weather its male and female i wouldnt kno... my understangding is fallen dont get wings... im assumeing they are what the bio reffers to when it says jumping across ravines. becuase im almost positive th orcish guys are the so called demons... as for custoizeation its always possible looks at SWG thats the only thing i liked about that game wat the large scla\e customisation then the designer class...

for me i aint too bothered what the wings look like, what im looking for is a way to fly thats believable yet simple to use but that said i wouldnt turn down a chance to customise as it would give the character some individuality more so for the fallen than the chosen i would think.demon wings seem to have a more varied theme than angels.

I think it would be really cool to have customizable wings, and as quest rewards as you said (maybe middle-high end quests). Or maybe just as options in character customization.

It would also be really cool if as you leveled, maybe the way your wings look or maybe even the size of them changed. Like the higher level you are, the bigger your wings?

Ju-hyun Jang said that we will get a "very powerful character customisation tool – perhaps more powerful than anything else you’ve seen." He didn't mention anything about wings, but I think they could put in wing customization fairly easily.

yah NCSoft did, afteralll, make city of heros/villans.... and theres surpassed SWG i forgot about that... i have no doubt in my mind that they are gonna make it a nice system...

Sorry, but the orange Orc dudes (I guess we can call them that) are not the Fallen. Once again, we have not seen anything of the Fallen except for a silhouette.

Lol same. They make kick *** bad-guys but I wouldn't want to play one while the other faction is flyin around.

Well it all depends Myz because it certainly seems that the wings arent on your back while you are grounded they seem to be an activated skill.

If the wings are enlarged well enough they may just look like bigger wings however just scaling everything would just be a poor design.

I know Warhammer Online intends to make a visual enlargment for the Dwarves and Orcs in the game Dwarves Beards growing as they progress and Orcs grow in stature meaning they stand above the lower level Orcs.

I wasn't really serious about that part.

But, technically, wings would have to be enormous to carry something the size and weight of the average human. I mean massive, unless of course the people in Aion have hollow bones :\

Hmm, growing wings... interesting. But I would look like that worm on "A Bugs Life" movie when he turns into a pretty butterfly. My wings would be so small, I would have 2 feathers on each.

I personnaly hope that both sides would be able to fly. I recall seeing the newest trailor with people fighting in mid air with their wings out... unless I just looked at it wrong?

I hope both partys have wings, as someone stated earlier... I would feel a bit odd being this big old ugly bad guy (the fallen) looking up at my enemy. Kinda of a disadvantage I would think? Maybe the evil side will have demon/dragon type wings? They did say there were going to be dragons in Aion.

And I would think that we would be weaker with the wings on. An example would be City of Heroes. You use more Endurance/Rest in the air, so you are unable to use many of your powers... otherwise, you become tired and fall to the ground. And we already know by the Aion movies that you do get hurt when you fall.

I could go on and on.... I tend to babble, sorry all. You will learn that about me.

Well, you'll be glad to know that both factions WILL be able to fly. Anyway I really do hope that the wings will be customizable... It can get pretty uninteresting flying with a group of people all with exactly the same type of wings.
