아이온의 모든 면을 제대로 즐기기 위해서 레기온 가입은 거의 필수적입니다. 물론, 홀로 아이온을 즐기는 것이 불가능한 것은 아닙니다. 하지만 앞으로 추가될 어비스 요새전과 대규모 RvR의 진정한 재미를 맛보기 위해서는 동료가 필요합니다. 그리고 그 동료를 가장 효과적이고 조직적으로 규합할 수 있는 수단이 바로 레기온 입니다.
In order to enjoy every aspect of gameplay Aion has to offer, joining a legion is a must. Of course, it’s still okay to enjoy the game alone, but in order to participate in the upcoming Abyss sieges and massive RvR, you will need companions. The most effective way to do this would be to join a legion.
현재 아이온을 키워드로 검색해보면 수많은 레기온 카페들을 찾아볼 수 있습니다. 그러나 레기온에 관심을 가지고 있는 인원에 비해, 게임에서 실제로 레기온을 구성하고 활동을 펼친 수는 그다지 많지 않았습니다.
You may find many legion websites with the keyword Aion, but the actual number of active legions in-game isn’t as numerous as those who are interested in forming their own once it becomes available.
그래서 지금까지 소개된 정보를 토대로 레기온의 창단부터 관리에 대한 기초 가이드를 작성해보았습니다^^

So, I have written a short guide to walk you through the basics of legions from creation to management.

1. 레기온을 만들어보자!

레기온 창단하기
Establishing a Legion


레기온 창단을 위해서는 천족과 마족 대도시의 레기온 관리 건물 내에 있는 레기온 창설담당 NPC에게 찾아가야 합니다. 레기온을 설립하여 1 레벨 레기온을 만드는 데에 따로 서명과 같은 절차가 필요하진 않지만, 135,000키나라는 상당한 거금이 필요하기 때문에 혼자의 힘으로 레기온을 창단하는 것은 쉬운 일이 아닙니다. 그래서 자연스럽게 초기의 레기온은 길드장 및 임원들의 기부금을 모아 창단되곤 합니다.
In order to create a legion, you must find the appropriate NPCs located in the Legion Registration Office in the capital cities. The process isn’t complicated as you do not need to obtain signatures; but with the cost being 135,000 Qina, it won’t be easy to create a legion alone. Naturally, you would need contributions from your to-be-legionnaires.

길드 명칭을 정할 때 주의할 점
Things to look out for when naming your guild
1. 길드 이름은 최대 10글자까지 가능합니다
2. 길드 이름에 빈칸이나 특수문자가 들어갈 수 없습니다
3. 골드만 지불하고 ESC를 눌러 취소하거나 길드 명칭을 정하는 메뉴창을 실수로 닫았을 경우, NPC에게 다시 말을 걸면 계속 진행할 수 있습니다
1. You may have up to ten characters for the name of your guild. (Translator’s note: This only applies to the Korean version; keep in mind that Asian characters (full width katakana/hiragana/hangul/hanzi) take up twice as much space as Latin letters)
2. You may not have special characters or spaces in the name of your guild. (Translator’s note: Again, may not be applicable for NA/EU versions)
3. Even if you accidentally close the window or click cancel when naming your guild after having already paid the money, you can still continue where you left off by talking to the NPC again.



창단된 레기온의 문장은 플레이어 툴팁에 표시되며, 맨 처음 1 레벨 레기온에서는 이것이 랜덤으로 선택되어 변경이 불가능합니다. 그러나 레기온의 레벨이 올라가면 레기온 창설담당관 NPC와 함께 있는 문장담당관 NPC 에게서 문장을 바꾸거나, 직접 만든 문장을 등록하는 것이 가능해집니다.
The legion crest will be displayed on the player tool tip; initially the crest is selected randomly and cannot be changed. Later on as the legion advances in level, the crest may be changed and player-made crests may be registered as well via Crest Manager NPC.

레기온의 레벨
Legion Level
레기온의 등급으로 현재의 CBT에서 밝혀진 범위는 3레벨 까지 입니다. 레기온 2 레벨과 3 레벨 업그레이드는 레기온 창단보다 훨씬 더 까다로운 조건을 가지고 있습니다. 그렇기 때문에 레기온의 지속적인 레벨업을 위해서는 장기적으로 레기온 예비인원을 접수 받으면서 이들에게 받은 기부금과, 레기온의 현재 소속인원의 기부금을 모아 레기온 레벨업 자금을 만들어 나가야 합니다.
Currently, a legion may advance up to level 3 as revealed from CBT. Level 2 and 3 have far more complicated requirements than the initial registration process. In order to keep advancing the legion’s level, it may be required to take constant contributions from members and create funds for the advancement process.

과거의 1차 CBT에서는 레기온 공적 포인트를 얻는 것이 매우 어려웠기 때문에, 부득이한 경우 동일 레기온의 인원을 나누어 여러 개의 1 Lv 레기온으로 관리를 하는 경우도 있었습니다.
Because it was so difficult to obtain guild points in CBT 1, players opted to register several Lvl1 legions instead of forming a single large guild.
레기온의 규모가 점점 더 커질수록 비용상의 부담이 기하급수적으로 늘어나기 때문에, 레기온 예비인원과 현재인원의 레기온 레벨업을 위한 기부금을 관리하는 임원들의 역할이 매우 중요해지게 될 것입니다. 또한, 공적 포인트를 얻기 위한 레기온 현재 인원들의 활발한 게임 플레이가 요구됩니다.
Since the cost of maintaining a legion grows as the legion itself grows in membership, management skills will become very useful and important as the guild grows larger. Members’ activity will play a crucial role in obtaining guild points.
공적 포인트란? What are guild points?
현재 자세하게 밝혀진 부분은 없지만 어비스에서 주로 얻을 수 있을 것으로 추측되고 있는 포인트.
1차 CBT 에서는 오드의 흐름이 뒤틀리면서 넘어온 어비스 몬스터들의 요새 침공을 방어하는 과정에서 소량 축적할 수 있었다. 개인이 얻게 되는 어비스 포인트의 일부분이 레기온의 공적 포인트로 축적되는 것으로 여겨진다. 어비스 포인트의 성격상 일반 지역의 요새 방어 외에도 상대 종족 플레이어나 NPC를 죽이는 것으로도 획득할 수 있을 것으로 추측된다.
Nothing much is known of this yet, but it is assumed that it involves activity in the Abyss. In the 1st CBT, some points were accumulated by defeating monsters that invaded a fortress due to a disturbance in the flow of Od(?). (refer to this link for more info: http://www.aionsource.com/forum/gene...71-events.html) It is assumed that personal GP gain contributes to the legion’s GP, and may also be obtained by killing players and NPCs of the enemy faction.



2. 레기온의 혜택과 관리

채팅 채널에서는 기본적으로 레기온 전용 채팅내용의 색상 설정을 지원합니다. /g 또는 /ㅎ [할 말] 을 입력하면, [할 말] 부분은 설정된 색상으로 채팅창에 출력됩니다.

길드 가입 예비 인원(대기인원)이 많은 레기온의 경우, 레기온 전용 채팅 채널 외에 사설 채널을 개설하여 운용하는 경우도 많습니다. 이런 경우에는 따로 탭을 하나 더 생성하여 레기온 전용 대화창으로 사용하는 것도 나쁘지 않습니다^^
Should a guild have a large number of players on waitlist, a separate non-guild channel may be created and be used as a guild chat.

레기온 인원의 세부등급 관리
Managing your members
기본적으로 레기온 인원의 내부등급은 크게 레기온 마스터/오피서/멤버의 3가지로 고정되어 있습니다. 지난 1차 CBT에서 선보였던 버전은 레기온 인원의 등급을 새로 만들거나 따로 설정하는 기능은 존재하지 않았습니다. 레기온 인원들의 등급 및 권한 설정은 오직 레기온 마스터만이 가능한 영역입니다.
There are three generic ranks available: Legion Master, Officers, and Members. In the 1st CBT, there wasn’t an option to customise or create a rank. Members’ privileges and ranks can only be edited by the Legion Master.

레기온 전용 창고

천족이나 마족 대도시에는 레기온 창고 관리 NPC가 있습니다. 레기온 창고는 창고 이용이 허가된 등급을 가진 레기온 인원만이 이용할 수 있습니다. 창고를 이용할 수 있는 등급에 대한 설정은 마스터만이 접근 가능한 레기온 정보 인터페이스의 권한 설정에서 가능합니다.
Legion Bankers can be found in the racial capitals. Only members with privileges may use the guild bank. The privileges can be set by the Legion Master through the control panel.


3. 레기온이 앞으로 나아가야 할 길
온라인 게임에서 커뮤니티의 기능은 매우 중요합니다. 특히 아이온은 RvR 장르를 지양하고 있기에, 단순한 커뮤니티의 기능에서 더 나아가 플레이어들의 단결력을 모아줄 구심점의 존재가 절실합니다.
이러한 점에서 아이온의 레기온은 구심점의 역할을 해낼 수 있는 충분한 가능성을 보여주고 있습니다. 게임은 아직 클로즈베타 테스트 단계에 불과할 뿐이지만, 다양한 레기온들이 그 기틀을 착실하게 다져가는 모습을 어렵지 않게 발견할 수 있기 때문입니다. 아이온에 대한 애정 못지 않게, 자신의 레기온을 아끼고 그 명예를 중요하게 여기는 유저들 또한 많다는 사실은 앞으로 선보이게 될 어비스에 대한 전망을 밝게 만들어주고 있다고 생각합니다.
그러나 과거 리니지의 길드와 같이, 하나의 레기온이 어비스에서 얻을 수 있는 이익을 독점한다는 것은 불가능에 가깝습니다. 이에 대한 답은 유저분이 아이온메카에 제보해주신 NCSoft 1:1문의 답변내용에서 가장 잘 설명되어 있다고 생각합니다.

Awesome and thanx for the translation. I am loving this already. I love how they made it so that maintaining a legion will be a group effort and not someone who has deep pockets. Looks like this will stop legion hoppers which I love.

Very nice, and i agree with the other posters, it prevents guild hoppers and makes people commit more to the guild. Very nice indeed.
I think we will be more strict then i had initially planned in our recruitment when the game is live after reading this news.

I actually like the point requirement for upgrading a legion instead of money alone. The clan I was in in L2 was the first on our server to hit lvl 8 (and, after I quit, were the first in NA/EU to lvl 9) and it only happened because we had great teamwork. This common goal brought us together and it was very satisfying to accomplish.

Also the ability to change legion leader is very key, as this in L2 destroyed clans that had a lot invested in them as soon as the clan leader decided to quit game and wasn't able to transfer leadership.
