Which profession? (Crafting)

If people are indeed capable of crafting armors through other people's professions, I guess i'll pick Alchemy to be able to solo with them in those times you can't a buffer to party with. Probably you'll also be able to craft some greater healing potions to help you in PvP...

Weaponcrafting doesn't surprise me, but I'm a bit shocked alchemy is so high up there. I was never under the impression it was very popular in both WoW or FFXI. I never actually did any research though, but I didn't realize it obviously holds so many uses for people.

I'm torn, as usual. The romantic in me wants to pick weaponcrafting because of my life-long love of fantasy novels. The notion of being a smith and making an epic weapon of some sort is a huge turn on for me.
On the other hand, the pragmatist in me wants to take whichever professions is the most profitable.
I think I'll withhold my vote until the other 4 professions are revealed

One thing i do see is either armor or cooking being the most popular as it will probably the most profitable in the early stages of the game.

If I could learn to have a frosted mini wheat in a spoon, flip it up in the air, get some milk in the spoon quickly, then catch the mini wheat frosted side up, I wouldn't be in college.

50% of all crafters I knew personally (well... I-net personally lol) in FFXI did alchemy. :x
Most of them were collecting Haku spawn item parts and selling Silent Oils and Prism Powders, cause back when I played, it was easy, fast and uncomplicated win.

I never really paid that much attention. I suppose my assumption came from me not understanding how anyone could want to do alchemy. I dunno, something about spending forever collecting materials, painstakingly combining them to create a new item, and then using it and watching it disappear forever makes me cringe.

I suppose they sold most of it instead of using. lol
But yea, I hated farming myself. That's why I did Clothcraft. Although I had to farm a bit here and there to get to 100, mostly I just bought stuff and sold it again for slight win using the AH. Alchemy was mostly about bazaaring at Rolanberry Fields or sky (where they made the win through selling oils and powders for a higher price, using the fact that people often forgot to bring some lol).

EDIT: Beastmasters were also often doing alchemy, since they could farm haku spawn item parts and solo level at the same time in one go.

Alchemy is normally a very popular one, in both FFXI and WoW. Esp. among people who raid/PvE a lot and need those speacial potion buffs. Its much cheaper to make them yourself, or get them from a guildmate, then buy them.

Although it's even easier to ask their WHM ***** (me) for Sneak and Invis permanently.
