Auction House

What I'd like to know is where the auction house will be located. Will there only be one in Sanctum for the Elyos? Will there be more in other cities? Will all the Elyos auction houses be linked?

Also, I think it'd be *really* nice if the player cities in the Abyss had action houses within it's protective walls that linked to Sanctum's Auction House.

No, I'm not expecting an answer. I'm fairly certain there's not one yet. I'm just talking.

I really like WoW's AH system cause I could put stuff up for sale leave and when it sold id have a message notifing me, in this way I wouldn't have to sit there waiting to see if it would sell. Furtheremore I don't really like playershops because it encourages players to just sit there character in town and go AFK not playing the game.

Yeah, I'll admit the FFXI AH is tricky for people who aren't used to it. Finding the Sneak Oils, for instance, is under Medicine. Who the hell would think Oils would be in Meds!? That one took me hours I remember back in the day to find. There are some bad items like that, but for the most part, it's simple. Looking for a Club? Weapons > Clubs > Your Item > Buy = Ding ding~

I'm sure the AH will be the same for both the Asmos and the Elyos, most likely, but it could be different ones as well, since they're making Elyos and Asmodians so opposed to one another. I'd imagine multiple ones though in various towns for each, having one in the main cities would be stupid..

Try finding the fkn Bohyada Moss, that was a quest by itself!

Seriosuly, FFXI AH sucks balls. Even if you're a veteran some new items are just plain impossible to find because some things are just placed under totally ridiculous categories, like Sabre mentioned, Oils or Prisms under medicines, like wtfmate? o.O\

Let's not even talk about selling, 7 item limit? fk that. And you can;t sell one item out of a stack, no, you have to sell the fkn stack or nothing. Only thing you can do is go back to your house, leave the rest of the stack, tajke one only and sell it. OR go to the mail guy, send the rest of the bunch to your house (or mule) then sell the unit..geez...SE is retarded, I swear ...

Haha very true Kaldur, I was even thinking about the single or stack issue. That did suck, if you had let's say 7 mosses, and was done farming, you knew you had to go back because you needed 5 more to be able to sell em to make your money >.> But the format in which they made the AH wouldn't really allow 2s, 3s, 4s, all the way up to 11s of an item to be sold, it'd just be wayyy too big!

Seven items at a time SUCKED! That was the biggest issue for me crafting. When I got down to leveling hard for a few levels, and needed to sell my crafts for some money and mainly room, I was screwed.

There will, no doubt, be personal bazaars as well in probably a certain main area that the player-base will end up designating. Unless they don't implement an AH surcharge, that is. I'm sure you FFXI'ers will remember the ridiculous Jeuno AH taxes for listing anything above 10 million. Speed Belts, Sonic Belts, etc. were all sold(and I believe still are sold) only through personal bazaars. The Kraken Club was added to the "bazaar only" list when it finally dropped below 100 million gil.

I'm actually kind of hoping that they do different tax rates for different cities. I kind liked the feeling of accomplishment that I got from FFXI when I went to other cities for better rates, as well as the feeling I got when I just sold it from wherever cause I was too rich to be bothered =p
