Thank you Reitai for pointing out what I've been trying to say all along lol, honestly I don't understand why there would be a need to argue on this thread to begin with, it's only CBT2 . Everyone has a difference preference to what they want in the game so I don't see why there is a need to argue over it, people should be allowed to enjoy the game no matter what they prefer, as to whether they have the advantage in it or not, well, that's life.

btw katsuro I would like to point out once again there's a customize key binding option in there where you can bind your movements and spells to whatever suits you. Heck, you can use 1234 to move and asdflkjasfdqpoiweru to use spells if you want if you completely ignore default binding and just bind it to whatever suits you. That's what I like about customizing key binding, freedom!

Having both click to move and keyboard movement in there is also about freedom of choice, people should be allowed to play with whatever makes them comfortable. If you don't like the other way of movement and if you think it's stupid, that's your thought. Nobody has to agree with everything and this world will still run day after day. That's life.

As I've said repeatedly, all the skills are rebindable. The default is 1 to =, Ctrl 1 to =, and Alt 1 to =, but you can rebind it to whatever. Personally I only use wasd to move, then 1-6 for skills, then I use g f q e r t z x c v b and shift g f q e r t z x c v b in order to cast freely, then i use my mouse to rotate angles and stuff and to click on things that i didn't bind because it's not as useful to me etc.

Everything's rebindable, EVERYTHING. Just like in WoW.

Even stuff like, what to open character screen skill window quest window all that stuff it's all rebindable. There's a tab in the interface option that's dedicated to the bindings.

I still love GW somewhat.
Players who do this are called "clickers" in WoW. Trust me, it is not a honorary title.

I guess it's just nice to discuss game design for the heck of it. It's not like we have the actual game to play so we might as well speculate and theorize while waiting for the beta.

That is indeed good to hear. I wouldn't really expect anything less from a brand new MMO.

You may hate it but in twich based pvp game like Aion, if you plan to be on top of pvp food chain its the only way to go. Sure, you will still do fine with mouse (espacialy healers), but if you take two same skill level players, i will bet my money on the one using wsad + keyboard bindings anytime.

Anyways, i guess autoface is there to actually level field between keyboard players and mouse clickers.

Not really, autoface can also be good for situations where you lag, or in lvling when you're just plain lazy to face something. Not everything's just PVP concerned you know.

Yeah 'clickers' dont get far in any gameplay that requires finesse with movement.
Mainly PvP a 'keyboard turner' will get annihilated by a normal WASD

I think we should start a new thread somewhere on chitchat or other forums <Maybe a PVP one> that can argue over what's going to do well in PVP or what not, cause lol, honestly it's not so relative to this thread

That's not true at all.

I know some people who keyboard turn and click that can play just as well as everyone else. It's just a different sort of game play. WASD is just easier to learn, I think. (No, I don't click or keyboard turn)

This is what the keyboard turners often say themselves, yet none of them have been able to show results. Clicking is one thing, but keyboard turning means you are just completely hopeless. I've actually beaten keyboard turners without taking a single hit by circling behind their backs. It's that slow...

I mean, all I have is someone's word that he can play as well as anyone, yet logic alone dictates that WASD + mouse look has a huge advantage. The advantage is probably even greater than in mouse aim versus game pad aim in an FPS. You can be a god with the game pad, but you're still competing against a vastly superior method.

Oh and this thread has gone so off-topic already that I don't think anybody cares. I think most everyone have already voiced their opinion on the original post anyway, and the thread would just die if we stopped discussing everything else.

I know what you're saying. I'm really not sure how he does it, but he's been keyboard turning and clicking for so long that it's pretty much all he knows how to do. He told me he sometimes uses his mouse to turn, but clicks just about everything.

Personally, I find it a lot easier to just use WASD and turn with my mouse.

My point was, you don't have to be a WASD user in order to do well. He is in one of the best WoW guilds in WoW (Aurora) and one of the best PvPers on the server (Mal'ganis).

Interesting, can I have his nick? I'd like to check him out if you don't mind.
Also, I assume this is on Mal'ganis (NA).

I do not distinguish by the eye, but by the blade, which is the proper judge. -Kat

If they fixed all of this in alpha, why have a beta? And they wouldn't really know about half these problems if only a few people, like in an alpha, played.
