Most wanted changes by Korean beta testers.

BEFORE YOU READ THIS, UNDERSTAND THAT AION IS STILL IN CLOSED BETA STATUS, WHICH MEANS THINGS WILL BE CHANGED WHEN DEVELOPERS THINKS IT IS NECESSARY. DON'T BE AN IDIOT BY SAYING STUFF LIKE "OMG AION IS GOING TO SUCK", I AM SIMPLY LISTING THE COMPLAINS BY KOREANS ON THEIR OFFICIAL FORUMS.

Don't take it too seriously, this is just a list of complains from CLOSED BETA testers, Aion is not even completed yet.


1. 1 min flight time is too short. Not even enough to have 1 aerial combat. Increase the duration of flight time as players level up.

2. Not being able to swim in a mmorpg is ridiculous. Testers wants to explore underwater just like WoW and do quests as well.

3. Mob respawn timer and number. Some quests asks players to kill 15 of one kind, but there are only 4-5 specific mob in 1 field/zone and their respawn timer is ridiculously long. It is almost impossible to do these kind of quests atm. Not to mention some of boss monsters' respawn timer is 20 min. Players actually have to line up and wait forever just to complete 1 quest with out fighting and arguing with other players.

4. Quests like "escort a npc quest" can't be done in group atm, not to mention escort npc takes forever to respawn.

5. Not enough information and guide on quest log. There is a system that allows players to search npcs and locations in Aion but some of important quest npcs or locations aren't included in this feature, therefore if you have no idea where the hell the npc is, due to lack of info on quest log and not trackable by npc/location searcher then it's QQ time.

6. Going to Elysium or Pandemonium whenever it's time to learn new skills is pain in the ***. Adding trainers to semi big cities would be nice.

7. Related to number 6. Elysium and Pandemonium are the only places with profession trainers. Should add some of profession trainers here and there.

8. Lack of info on official Korean site.

9. Server down every 10 min, learn to buy a better host.

10. Problems with "chain skill or combo skill" system. For example: Fire blast is castable by mages only AFTER Fire arrow is casted first. But the problem is that fire blast's icon takes over fire arrow's icon, which means you can't cast fire arrow repeatedly like spamming fire ball or frostbolt in WoW. Can't cast fire arrow again until fire blast is casted or wait until fire blast icon disappear after 3 sec or so. Testers aren't sure whether this is "Working as intended" or bug yet.

Thanks for the info. Wanna be part of the translator group at AionSource.com?

Also, let's hope NCsoft Europe doesn't care about number 8 and pays close attention to number 9. Number 1 through 7 I doubt NCsoft Europe can do much about.

I'd say there are still a lot of elements in the game that needs to be balanced. Bear in mind that all the above are problems that occurs in the low level already. There still needs to be tests done in the Abyss zone, in instance, in raids etc to find out how those work.

I hope they have some sort of ground mount though :P running around everywhere is a pain in the ***

Is the world that large? Better yet, if you or Irisviel have played L2, is it as awful as the lv40 class change quests back in prelude/C1 (running all over the map)?

Nah, not so much, nothing's as painful as those class change quests T_T.

It's not really that bad once u get from one fly point to another (the distance between them would be shorter than WoW). I think I'm just too spoiled being able to run everywhere fast on a mount lol.

I don't know, I just think it'd be nice that way so when you have to run from quest location to quest giver the traveling time is minimized

Not really, so far I never had issues with money. You can pretty much afford vendor gears (or sometimes even greens). Iris is a beast at making money and he already have enough to buy all green pieces. But even someone as lazy as me and bad at managing money I have enough savings to do everything i want (with some spare) so it's really not that bad ;p

I don't see the spawn time as a real problem in the release. It's very unlikely that you'll need such fast respawn except for the first few days in the release when everyone's swarming to make a new character. Atm it's only a problem because there are so many testers and so little time to actually play. I do agree they should boost the spawn time for test, but I've seen when mobs respawn WAY TOO FAST in the release. It was kinda like that in TBC, mob spawn were way higher than azeroth, it was nice for the beginning, but now as nobody level anymore, it's hard to even clear to the quest mob in the end without having respawns almost catching up to you. I've found myself facing many situations where I just get overwhelmed by the rate that things spawn at. Then again, it was nice for the start yeah

But that's the problem though, you'll always find yourself with either too little or too much spawn for different times, it's hard to actually find a balance, just need to base it on more experience I guess.

Or base spawn times on the number of players in an area. Sheesh, you'd think they'd thought of that by now.

I personally think waiting 20 min for a mob just to finish a quest is stupid even when it's not crowded.
