I hope you guys also consider condensing the underpopulated servers. Its a major issue in most MMOs that when the overall game pop dwindles and xfers are available that some servers die but for example, in WoW, blizz does nothing about it and around 50 of the 230 US servers are <2000 ppl total. Its pretty disgusting.

So hopefully a system will be tested to merge low pop servers, possibly releasing the empty server as another new server, or such. Im sure name changes and guild renaming wont be as much of an issue as having a horrible game experience where you cant find a group for anything.

over crowding on servers is what i hate but aion servers are shooting for 5000 peeps cap so this should not be a problem.

Don't do it!

The absolute start of the server where everyone are competing in the same small area is the most fun.

Granted, it might not be as fun in a faction game...

This is true, but Aion wont have 10kk subscribers, and its going to have like double the people per server from WoW, at most I'd expect 7 or 8 servers.

i think the best solution to low population servers in general is to make a fusion of two or three of them...can't think of anything else

The only problem with that is the heroes and castle situation...but the GM's could come up with a system for example by putting the clans on both servers that have a certain castle in a siege against each other that is a little longer, and maybe a brief tournament for all of the heroes on both severs, and the best of the 2 from each class will win.

Servers won't have more than 5k players. The most clients they get, the more servers they will open. As simple as that.

All depends of NCSOFT marketing.Atm the game is very amazing and interesting but not very famous.Perhaps we will see more than 5 servers but don't think too in 5k ppl per server. They will think if should be an epic failure in the first 3 or 4 months. It begins with around 2k or 3k and later, later with more money ,more capacity and more ppl, better maintenances, etc,as all knows.

I hope that it should be a "boom" game for the MMORPG competency

I hope NCsoft won't underestimate the initial amount of players. I don't want to have
- laggy servers
- too many players so the server get f**ked up...

You can never have too many players. There is a 5000 player limit per server just like L2, there wont be more people online at once than 5000...and I doubt they will ever be laggy.

Lag may come from user's ISPs, not from NCsoft's servers.

I doubt there will be lag in the server, Nc learned a lot with their mistakes on Lineage 2 start and we haven't saw the same when they launched Guild Wars, anyways even on L2 the problem wasn't the server but the login server tht got hammered till goes down by thousands of players.

About the ks thing i would like to see something like what happens in wow, the guy that do the first hit is the owner of the xp and the loot of the mob, this mean the xp won't be shared even if a ks'er come's in and hit yur mob, actually he will be helping you insteed

About server management.. well.. NC haven't showed pretty active on L2 about this, i can only hope it won't be like that on Aion.

the channel thing for launch noob zones sounds like a great idea. Does anyone remember WoW BC launch? It was difficult not only because a ton of people where in the same place, but all the mobs for quests were killed.

I hope there will be a very limited amount of servers, at least a lot less than there are in L2. Not that i like laggy servers but i believe it's possible to have a massive amount of players online without having consequent problems. A few l2 servers back in the days sucked because there was not enough people on them. Even now, everyone moved to bartz, a lot of servers suck nowadays. Less means more action yay.
