Aion UI Poll
Orginal topic on that mater got bit to hot and was closed, but im still curious how does AionSource community feel about UI customization in Aion, so, like someone suggested, lets make poll
So here we go, 3 chocies: -No addons, but it will be still possible to move some UI elements like chat / map / actionbars -Only addons that reskin / move / hide / and scale UI components are alowed. So basicaly you would download new skins for UI -WoW style, meaning addons can use open api, can change how data is presented, calculate some things on their own, and change how some parts of UI work. Being able to move and change the interface is cool, but I'd really like Aion to be playable without all the quest helps and stuff people use for WoW. Granted you don't NEEEEEED to use those (Cause I didn't) but without them certain quests would be stupidly difficult. Some way to keep things challenging but doable would be perfect.

Edited the OP's post. If NCsoft implemented an API there's no guarantee they'd ever monitor its use or keep it up to date. I don't trust them to do anything in a timely fashion, to be honest.

I really don't want to trash another thread but that was some nasty way of handling things TBH, you could: split that poll option in two: -WoW style but only if NC restricts and monitors it -WoW style FFA ![]() or just add to my post that there is no guarantee NC will monitor their api as frequently as they should. But removing that bold text altogether its almost like you sugest they won't do it for sure. Last edited by goatus; 04-28-2008 at 09:49 AM.. |

I personally don't have alot of experience with NCsoft, but most online game companies i've been with start having trouble monitoring after a while. and monitoring is never perfect, because somethings are just EXTREMELY dificult to monitor ALL the time, because of limited resources and all... either way, all i really want is customizable UI, because i like making thinks look the way i want, especially if i'm going to waste half my life every day on it :P |

you'd be dumb to trust a game run by NCSoft to monitor anything but their dev team creating new expansions ![]() like i said before, i hope they will do a good job at running this game like a top MMO, but theres no reason to trust that they will (a la L2)...they need to prove it Last edited by Calindor; 04-28-2008 at 12:08 PM.. |

Nothing personal dude, but I don't trust NCsoft to take care of the games they've made. They'd have to prove their worth, or hire me, before I trusted them.

If NCsoft is indeed capable of monitoring all the add-ons then i'll be all in favour of that. Still, it's quite an utopian scenario we're talking about...
