for me role playing is an essential part for any mmo but today it's not being seen serious by most gamers... it would be nice to see more people role playing it adds a sense of mystery in the monotone killing

I like the idea of getting swallowed up by the lore of a game world, be it single player FPS or neverending MMORPG. If it appeals to me, I'm all over it.
Aion looks impressive in this regard. The look and feel of the world is nothing short of jaw dropping and I'm sure detailed lore will come popping up as we get closer to launch. Will I RP ingame? I wouldn't run away from it, but I wouldn't actively seek it out either. Also I'm not hardcore RP'er (going all thou, thee, use greet and goodbye emotes to everyone I talk to and walk rather than using auto run), more casual. A mix of a fictonary character and my own personality, so I get this handy 50-50 mix. |

For me, RP is just a small part of my game. However, if there are RP servers, I will pick them every time. Simply because I enjoy the RP "talk". Also people generally are more in-character and discuss about lore, or make lore-related jokes rather than discussing the latest football results and calling each other a noob.
However I am no big fan of "sit around and talk" RP. I still very much want to play the actual game, not use it as an extended chat room. While I enjoy the occasional RP event (in terms of people coming together playing out their own stories) I still want to play Aion for the content it offers. |

I don't c how u can role play in a mmo. U wud need to be guided along ur story and told wat ur next step should be like in a RPG. Role playing in mmos only goes as far faction background and relations between said factions, the pure fact that u participate in pvp is role playing right there. So if u wanna role play get ur butt up and go kill some elyos/asmos to ur hearts desire.
