I agree completely. I played FFXI for only a little while, though I found their skill chain system irritating.

I will agree, being one of the many who don't have all of the FFXI skillchains memorized, even after playing since the PS2 release years ago. -_-;

I would also like to say that finding a party isn't all about having the right job to skillchain with, as well. Quite to the contrary, when you get to level 60+, a lot of exp parties don't even use them. It turns into a weaponskill spam fest, because the more powerful weaponskills don't skillchain with each other, or not well, at least(example: Rampage > Rampage)

I would like to see some form of skillchaining in Aion, for the simple fact that it can be extremely useful on Boss/Notorious Monster fights. In FFXI, there are a few Notorious Monsters that NEED skillchains used on them, to provide the Black Mages a chance to nuke, and unleash huge magicbursts.

Everything I have seen about Aion so far impresses me to no end. I have been spreading all of this info to alot of my Linkshell in FFXI recently, and I'm building a growing list of current TSW members who would like to make the jump to a TSW guild in Aion with me.

Excellent posts! (b*-*)b

I didn't know what it was called at the time but I'm pretty sure I've seen what one of these DP attacks looks like before. At E3 '06 I was able to sit down and play Aion for roughly 30 minutes, it was still very much in its early stages and didn't even have free roam flight yet, although they did have flight paths set up. And I'm pretty sure at that time they didn't have the DP system implemented cause I don't remember having a bar past the HP/MP that needed filling. But each character had an attack that they could do exactly once per play session, and I'm pretty sure those attacks are most likely going to be what's using the DP. I could be wrong, who knows, but those attacks were the most amazing I've seen in an MMO before and would be perfect for it.

Save your DP for those that try to kill you when you're fighting a mob?

So because it's old news to you, others can't talk about it? Someone needs to pick up some people skills.

He he, I usually save massive skills, like DP for more difficult battles too or until I get a good feeling on how long the DP recharges, if it's fairly quick you won't need to 'save' it so much but if it isn't you'll want to strategize more. I'm betting it'll be quick but there will be different kinds of moves/combos you can do with it so strategy will still be a good part of it.

That's what I was thinking, you'd have to get it to max before you can use it, then wait until it goes all the way up again. O:

Meh, I want to be able to random party or party with friends who have been free to chose the character that THEY want to play and not "what the skill chains need".

I may be missled, but that's what I've heard and one of the things that kept me out of the game because I didn't want to have to chose a character based on being able to get into a party...I wanted to be able to choose a character that I wanted to play.
Every single character in FFXI could take part in the skill chain -- even the casters in the back (Although, this usually didn't happen.) Instead, casters had magic bursts that fed off of the skill chain's effects to enhance their oncoming magic attacks. So, really, whomever you talked to really had no idea what they were talking about.

Not to mention, I rarely saw NA / EU parties utilize the function, anyways. >.>

But, anyways, if it's anything like FFVII's limit break or WAR's moral bar, I'll be 100% happy.

Everything in that game needed a handbook, even fishing.
Random person: "OMG! WANNING GIBBOUS! GOGOGO!"
Me: ".....What?"

So confusing. >.>

Lol so true! XD Although I must say, fishing for Moat Carp out in West Ranfaure pretty much payed for all my gear up to level 30 when I first started playing. Thank you Lu Shangs Rod, you've made me so much Gil. ;P
