Yea if i've ever heard ANY payment option complaints the above was one of the bigger ones. Kids that like playing but dont have CC's.

MMO's require a lot of time and attention to fully enjoy. If you dont think your playing 15$ worth or playing often enough for it to be worth it then i would suggest a different game.

Just don't whine that theres no "Free access to the server" so you can at least chat and be social.

True true. I actually didn't mean to single out your post. I just want to try to get the point across that its just another way to pay for the game. I get the feeling a lot of people are taking an elitist approach and suggesting things like, if you don't want to pay 15 a month your not good enough to play, or if you don't have enough time for the game, don't bother playing.

From a money making standpoint, this would allow more people more flexibility with their choices for payment. Its not like people wont pay the 15 bucks to play, its just that I think if people had the option, many would choose a method more suited to their lifestyle.

Sorry I got out of control. Must be that time of the month o_O

I think they pretty much have to decide if they stand to make enough money from it. If not...then why waste time and resources trying to develop that additional option. Especially at this time when they have much more important things to worry about.

It's tough developing a new game like this. They are trying to take a look at what has worked up until now with every aspect of the game, and with biling thats a 15$ monthly subscription with hardly any complaints.

I think they know that people will pay the 15$ and accept it... as they should....ITS FIFTEEN DOLLARS.

Well so far i only read the US complaints, but what about the europeans ?
Its a known problem that companies charge almost twice the money per month compared with the american users, $15 are 9€ and 15€ are 24 dollars, so basically we pay for the americans to play...
This is one of the reasons i still dont like this monthly payment **** and i wont ever buy any of this games, i would prefer paying up to 100€ for the game box like they do with Guild Wars plus using those item shops wich you pay for temporary items that help you through the game.

You can say "its only 6€ thats nothing!" Sure... 6€ are almost $10 in a year of subscription its $120 that we pay more than americans..

Ive been tracking this game since the beginning and honestly if they go ahead with the prices i wont buy/play it.

Yeah, it's indeed funny how pretty much everything costs the same although the dollar is losing value towards the euro.

Happened the same thing with the PS3... americans and japanese got the console earlier than us and at a bargain for us to buy @ their country and then they forbid the exports to europe just because they wanted to charge us the double

I can't believe people are getting worked up over $15 a month. If you can't pay that, then you didn't like the game that much to begin with. Nothing in this world is free, NCsoft isn't producing this game for us out of charitable causes. Sure, there's F2P MMOs out there, but it's pretty safe to say 99.9% of them are complete utter garbage, and to even compete in those, guess what, you need to pay and get something from the item mall. Hell, if it's really a quality game, I'd even throw down $25 a month if I have to, so what's the big deal if I skip lunch for a couple of days? lol

Well not all of us live under our parents roofs, we got bills, expenses and so many other things that you may learn how hard it is in the future. I never said i wanted it free i agree in that matter that its garbage (not all but most of them).

And the problem in my case isnt the $15 but the 15€

It's easier for accounting to deal with a single payment option.

I was going to add some more to that but I think that says it all.

I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the "payment type". I think if a monthly subscription is more expensive for you guys then any other payment method would be inflated as well. I can only guess its a conversion issue? I dunno but aion definitely won't be F2P.

Even if it was 24$ a month i would pay it tbh. Any MMO with such depth can keep my attention for months or years on end. It'll keep me from buying expensive *** console games.

$24/month.... compared to a 360/ps3 game @ $60

Keep in mind most console games are lucky to keep a gamers attention for past 2-3 weeks after you beat em.

Even with gta4, cod4, halo2 etc.... theres no new content really....it gets boring pretty quick for most on xbox live (which id like to add that your paying for on the side ALSO.

It really depends on your budget.... it may even be worth $60/month for aion to you if it replaces console games(that youd normally buy) completely.

Either way one weekend of staying in to raid rather than going out will probly save you enough money to cover a 1 month subscription @ 24$

but thats your choice if you dont play .... less lag for me and less people grabbing my mobs/"phat lewts"

Wanted to add also to the money you save playing an MMO. I bet my wife and I save hundreds of dollars a month because instead of going out every weekend and dropping 300.00 on dinner, movie, drinks etc... We will stay home a couple weekends out of the month and play our MMO of choice.

I'd pay $24.00 a month for an MMO easily, because I know I'd spend more NOT playing one.

Dajjal, we have many taxes, free social security, lot of money going to certain stuff we won't ever get to see, that's why we pay more, VAT, i think it's called like.

I know there's bills to pay, me too, hence skip lunch.

another nice option instead of doing the credit card thing is buying game cards like WoW does. you can buy 1 month or 3 month or whatever cards at a retail store, so no credit card required
