Problem with that is Yeah we can report em, but will the team DO anything with those reports or not. Botting was crazy in like Ragnarok Online for instance, but they did something really really cool. They post a list of all the characters they banned that week for botting so the whole community can see it.

Unfortunately RO is screwed because the source code was originally unprotected so the bots will persist, but the IDEA was great. If players can actually SEE who's getting banned for doing this stuff and that the makers do care, then people will feel it's worth it to put in a report. Can't count how many times I've heard people say in games "Yeah I would report him, but what's the point? It's not like they actually DO anything about it." I think active consistent lists of those banned would change that attitude.

Not to mention if you list folks' character names banned for buying and selling gold, you won't get that common phrase of "Oh I didn't know it was against the EULA to buy gold" or "Yeah but everybody does it and no one gets caught"

Might be good to make a public example out of cheaters and display their dedication to enforcing rules. Just my thoughts. Let me know if you guys hear specifics!

seriously though, active supervison and a team that can react rapidly to player reported bots would do fine.

NC just needs the effort to get rid of them all, fast.

I dont care about BOTS personally. When they are so high level and stuff they will then stop and think how terrible they really are and how guilty they really feel. WELL thats what I heard from a couple of people who botted...

Oh someone else on the forums also mentioned a message window that pops up every hour or so to verify a password. It could send you a code, like when signing up on a forum or something that you had to type in...It could start as just a flashing dot/mail message in the corner, so it wouldnt distract you, and it could give you like 10 minutes to reply so it doesnt interfere with what you are doing

hmm or just make a code @ buying pots u need to place a Code in what is in text and u can buy pots then that a good idea ha=P

Since NcSoft is a 'rather' new company i think they have improved much since L2's release so im hoping they will have better bot control over Aion but BOTS will always be there ppl will find a waya round somehow.

This can work - will take some more time to buy but will work especially if the code is in an image format.

Yeah Its A Awesome idea just put codes anywhere and For AutoMaticlyLoggers Use a Code to log in that u need to put a code when u'r login in and it change always =P Someone Of NcSoft here hehe i think this will be it

This is so easy to hack. You only need to crack the packets that send the code from the server to your client, make a script, implement it in the bot and voilla. Happy botting! Not convinced? Check R.O.H.A.N Online - Japan. The have an anti bot system where anyone can place some handcuffs on you and some text appears. If you don't reproduce the text in 5 mins you are banned. I tested this with a friend and his botting program.. the bot typed the text instantly.

The sad truth is that every high profile game on the market ATM has botters and farmers. There is no anti hack/bot system that can fully protect the game. I found a site some time ago that was dedicated to hack and crack nProtect antibot system, for crying out loud (Lineage II's antibot program).

Either you get used with the bots or quit playing. Simple as that. As for the farmers.. I don't know why people bash them so much. Beside the fact that they make RMT, they are still humans that play like normal people play. I farm for items too, lots of you as well... we just don't sell them for real cash. Big deal...if you want to..who's stopping you?

Yeah And Dont Make A Punishment for pk btw that u need tog get killed 3 times or u lose exp when u pk thats cool xD

Indeed, no system can fully protect the game; because there're always more exploiters than enforcers. You're always going to be out-scripted.

That's why anti-bot has to take manpower - an active GM team dedicated to elimination of bots.
