If I could create a class, I would make something similar to the Red Mage class on FFXI; only with a little bit more combat capability so that he wouldn't just be expected to stand back and buff the party the hold time.

8 new classes... but not for daevas.
2 new races, 8 new classes (necro, dark sorcerer, black guardian...) who lives in another dimension (where Balaurs had been kicked by daevas in the past). Aion comeback but a war with another god (who rules the 2 new races) begins. Elyos & Asmo need to cooperate like in the past. Mwhahahahahahhahahahahaha |

No new classes. I dont like when classes get specific for a casual game. I like small variants in existing classes, like a Warrior using either duals or a 2h sword.

I agree with everyone else, you can't really add any other classes unless you want to have something that looks cool but has no substance.
Melee damage Stealthy Melee Damage Ranged Physical Damage Magic damage Pets Tank Heals Buffs You can mix and match, but other than that, those are the basic categories in all MMOs. To make a game that has more balanced PvP, most companies are keeping those categories pretty separated. |

I would love to see more classes released DOWN THE ROAD. Of course, let people toy with these 8 classes for a year or two, and then throw some changes in there that allow people to keep mixing it up in an expansion. The best thing about FFXI was that there were HUNDREDS of party combinations, various builds for jobs (classes), so creativity was awesome. Creativity keeps the game from becoming boring and repetitive. It was great that NIN turned into a tank, because it totally changed how parties work, using an extra DD often for faster exp than a PLD tanked party. Meritting uses any DD classes with a /NIN sub and one healer when Sky came out. Now, with the new classes, HNMs are being tried in totally new ways. Kirin can be taken down in 3 minutes, Vrtra in 7-8, and it's very difficult, however very fun to try something new when you used to kite Kirin for over an hour.
I really wouldn't mind 4 more classes added, even 6, but it needs to come down the road, give people time to enjoy many of the already available classes if they choose to |

I think id like to see the Elyos and Asmodian have to come together to deafeat the Balur in an epic event. I kinda picture it similar but not entirely the same as the AQ war efforts in WoW. I think with this kind of event they could introduce the balur or a baluresque race as a playable race and another race they could play a role later on in the story line. I kind of imagine the Balur and Asmodians working on a deal to eliminate the Elyos;While possibly restoring the Tower of Eternity and the Elyos looking for help from the non playable race that was introduced.

I'd rather that they increase the flexibility of existing classes and advanced classes, if they start making all sorts of additional classes or advanced classes, than that means everyone has to role new characters to play them, which is a bad mechanic for a MMO type game and these types of character development. Rather it would be nice if the Assassin gained an alternate katana weapon set and new attacks to utilize with it, if the ranger gained a new projectile weapon, or maybe a whip. Templar be able to use a one handed spear with his shield to fight in a more solider style, perhaps with some reaching attacks.
Things like this are much better than dividing new components into totally seperate classes, because they cannot benifit existing classes, and players will have to role new characters to partake in them, basically offering little to enhance those already playing and already invested in existing classes. By mixing up the tactics and roles a little with new types of skills, existing characters can alternate and play new strategies that they may enjoy, wile offering some players the option to play something they desire, without dividing them into new classes. If they did do new classes, I would suggest nothing more than 4 new advanced classes based on the 4 existing initial classes, but I hope to god they don't do some silly branchoff of existing classes, like a multi summoner, hopefully they can come up with something interesting and original which offers new gameplay aspects for that class type, or for the game overall. __________________ ![]() May the Balaur overcome ALL! Not a bad idea, Aion isn't really pure high fantasy, don't we already have turrets on our castles? Pew pew.. ^^ I'd love something like the Blue Mage in FF10-2 there's a lot of potential with bullets too you could stick status effects on them ect..
