Necro is the only thing that would fit.
Can summon things out of corpses or is just an uber buffer and damage dealer. |

Necromancer- a "undead summoner", some debuffs, maybe even ok bare with me....
Blood magic- Sac life to gain mana, or a power boost to spells... (a neat little animation for a blood mage/caster could be a wrist slit (emo i know LOL) or something the special effects could look like pooling blood at his/her feet... oh btw in this game rated M or E? Mel |

Once I get the game, I plan on rolling a sin. But thats only because of the Dual-Wield possibilities. If anything I would like to get a Heavy plate armor wearer to Dual-Wield and use some type of magic. If any of you have played .hack//G.U. I would like it to be like an Adept Rogue or like a Druid (WoW) in terms of possibilities . A class that can chance base on the situation. Even if its like Gladiators from L2 it would be fun, I liked how they could wear heavy armor and use dual swords for max damage. Or if any of you have played FFXI the way Warrior/Ninjas had the Dual-Wield and 2H Axes thing down was really good too, not to mention the use of Ninjutsu abilities.

I'd like a heavy DPS oriented Spear user and a Monk type healer that can also fight close range.
Another neat thing would be class advancement. |

Continuation
Sorry in advance if this question doenst belong here. I am rather curious about the stigma system. What is it? Is it gonna be like the Talent trees in Wow? or like the Merit System in FFXI. Also, how can the stygma system produce magic using plate wearers? If so, do you think that a Dual-Wield Gladiator is possible? What would be the DPS compared to a 2h Axe or Sword Gladiator? I previously said that I was going to roll a sin, but im having my doubts. I recently saw a video with a DUAL-WIELD plate wearer in it. I cant say for sure it was a Gladiator, but im pretty sure it was not a Templay (Sword and Shield thing). Besides this video, however, all I see is two-handed Plate wearers. Im more of a IN YOUR FACE kind of guy, and I love the front line. I hate the "Rogues and assassin do it from behind" kind of thing, at least most of the time (I have a 70 Feral Druid so I use Cat form a lot). So if you guys can give me any pointers as what class should I pick, I would really appreciate it
Thanks in advance Last edited by sr7olsniper; 05-18-2008 at 11:54 PM.. |

I think I've seen most people around the forums say it was similar to WoW's talent trees. Whatever that was. (So much of this damn forum is coming from WoW, a game I personally despise with an utter passion... But I'll keep that hatred to myself~! <3)
But it's pretty simple. The stigma system allows a Sorcerer to wear chain mail or heavy armor, an Assassin to wear robes, a Ranger to wield a shield and sword, and etc. (That may not be EXACT, but I'm using examples.) It basically gives you access to a limited and/or underpowered version of an exclusive item/skill to another class (or classes). Now whether this is useful or not is up to the player or the situation, but it is there. (Robes help boost magical potency and/or magical defense, so normally an Assassin or Gladiator wouldn't need to wear them. But if there's a case where a magic-using mob/boss is a big problem, then...) I don't know EVERYTHING there is to know about it either, like as far as how extensive the choices are or how many you're able to use at once, but I hope that helps give you a general idea. ^-^ Now I won't be one of those mean people who yell at you for it, but you should ask most Aion questions in the "Ask a Question Get an Answer" sticky thread. Or, if you don't feel like waiting, you could try looking in the site's wiki. :3 |

As for trying to introduce hybrid classes ripped off from FF, you got to be kidding me, just because your attached to class steriotypes doesn't mean that they are neccessary roles, in fact, their dumb roles, GW did a much better profession combination system, allowing the combination of classes to allow alternate functions, in FF, your subjob was a veritable selection of simular effects neccessary to operate your overspecialized role, overspecializing being one of the downfalls of their gameplay, not something we need to plague on Aion as well. And the idea that a Martial Arts class would stem from Scout is kind of inaccurate, it would have to realistically be Warrior. Martial Arts only has so much merit, but when a humanoid being is trying to bash through a dragons hide or a the shell of a beast, martial arts doesn't adequitely apply, you need to bear great strength and martial skill in order to overcome an indominable foe. If they are going to stem more classes, it is naturally to add greater variation, and trying to seperate a hand to hand combat role and Assassins role from the Scout source is going to result in poor variations, wile having a beefy hand to hand combatant in comparison to Warrior and Templar will spell large differences from those two classes and Assassin. I'd rather see a Samruai added to Scouts advanced classes rather than martial arts, though samurai seems equally relavent to warrior or scout, Samurai are actually very relavent to archery and would have to be done well to make a distinction between Assassin or Warrior. Still, I feel that dividing the roles offers little to the game, you may as well just give Warrior or Assassin a hand to hand option with the aid or claws or gauntlets, and make Katana attacks a variation for Assassin. None of these are unique enough to fill a new role in combat, so they shouldn't be a new class, shared roles between multiple classes offers nothing to gameplay or class acceptance, if all we need is variations to fill different identities, we should have variations to existing classes, not seperation into more of them, it onlycauses problems. Oh yeah, Tae Kwan Do is a martial art, even boxing is, they just arn't complete martial arts, and few are. Most martial arts only rely on specific functions, sometimes seperated intentionally into different schools of training, not because they are ment to overlook full combat. The only reason some martial arts are more practical than others is because they are enrolled in actual warfare, wheras many martial arts are ancient traditions which uphold specific teachings or have just become dated. Grappler Baki paint's a nice picture of martial seperation and relavence, fiction that it is. Anime6.org Grappler Baki Maximum Tournament Why don't you watch that. And since Tae Kwan Do classes will often teach you more about combat application than Karate and many basic martial arts in America, it is alot more effective, reguardless of the potential of other martial arts, since they woln't actually practice them. I met the Jr. Womens Olympics Gold Medalist in Tae Kwon Do, we had the same teacher for a year. __________________ ![]() May the Balaur overcome ALL! Mua Ha Ha Ha Ha! Too early to speculate on that.
However, if this game follows not only NCSoft's pattern, but other games within the industry, it may be an epic archetype unlocked after attaining a certain level. What this will be in Aion, if any, only serves to make the imagination drool. __________________
