The idea would just escalate legion drama. Since this is a (mainly) pvp game there is bound to be some drama between legions.

Tavern Experience (Everything Below) :D

TAVERN EXPERIENCE!!

(Aka Minigames)


Building Layout
So this place will clearly look like a Tavern, it would just have a lot of round tables with chairs and Waiters in Miniskirts, lol jk, but it’s a Tavern, so it should clearly have something of the sort =p. Then there would like be a bar place where of course you can purchase booze… it’s a tavern after all. Also there will be a Party Room upstairs!! But I will talk about that later

Bartender
He will be the one you go to, to buy booze, but more importantly Ticket/Tokens to get started and Prizes. These ticket/tokens will cost a considerably amount of Qina so that those people with deep pockets won’t be able to get their tokens this way and you’d actually have to play the games to win them.

Prizes
With the ticket/tokens you can purchase prizes from the Bartender, but like stated above, you can’t get your tokens just by purchasing them because they cost quite a bit. And even if somehow you bought enough tokens it would just be a waste because there is a rank system that only lets you purchase a certain number of item depending how high you are in rank. By this I mean like some items, you’d at least have to have an X number of ranking points, not on how high your rank is on the whole server like Number 1 and all that.
These items are just for Aesthetics, just to like show off, brag about, etc etc, no advantages whatsoever.

NPC’s sitting at tables??
These NPC’s sitting at the tables are those mysterious shady, mysterious dudes that are like Masters at the game. When you talk to them, they can teach you how to play a specified game, or you can challenge them yourself for practice, but you don’t exactly get anything hehe

What Minigames are there??
I was thinking NC could make a Special card game made for Aion specificaly, like how there was a certain card game from one of the FF games... I forgot which one though. Also some other Minigames that fit in well with the game. Like some strategic board game or something that can simulate war like situations and things. Also some more, because two are just to small =p, feel free to throw out some ideas.

How do I play these games?
Simple, just sit down at a table, and set up a game and wait for someone to join. When you make your game, you have the options of making it ranked or unranked, incase you just want to play for just fun, and having the option to pick a specified game of your choice of course. Also for some privacy reasons you can set spectator mode to off so random people can’t watch your game.

Well anyway when someone joins your game, you look at their rank, if its too high for you, or you just don’t want to face that person for some particular reason, just kick them and wait for another person to join. When you do find a person to play, you both hit the ready button and Play.

The winner gets the spoils if you put any up, and if it was ranked, the loser loses rank and the winner gains rank. Depending on how far away the rank between the two players are will determine how much loss and gain of rank there will be.

Betting
When you and your opponent are both sitting at the table, in the Minigames window where you hit ready and all that, there will be a side bar where you can put in Token/Tickets that the winner will get if he won. This is the only real way to get Ticket/Tokens.

Rank System
If you are the host, when you make your game at the table, there will be an option to make the game Ranked or Unranked like stated above. If you chose Unranked you won't lose any of your ranking points. But if you picked Ranked, you will lose points from your ranking Depending on the difference on both your ranks, like if you beat someone on a higher ranked than you, you will receive more points than he would if he beat you.

Depending on your rank, you will be able to purchase different Items from the Bartender for a certain amount of Ticket/tokens.

Party Room

(Upstairs)


The Room
Remember that upstairs room I was talking about earlier? Well here it is, it’s the Party Room, this place is Instanced so anyone can Host their own room if they would like. Just walk to the portal, a window pops up, you click the host button and type in the following info.

Room Name
Password (optional)
Room Duration

Also how long you want to rent this room, hosting parties are no where free, there’s got to be expenses somewhere. So type in how long you want the Party Room to be up, the longer the party, the more Qina you have to pay. Also you can’t exceed anything over like 10 hours. Why? Because imagine what would happen if all these rooms stayed up and were never deleted… Well I don’t know but prob something bad would happen having numerous Rooms generated and staying there for eternity.

That’s it, and if anyone else wants to join you, they just type in the Room Name and Password if you put one up. Then they enter your party room.
Well anyway since you’re the host, you can decorate the party room with w/e options you have, like some for example, put food on the tables, streamers, balloons, some other things? Might even go as far as having a band perform there or something using the Music system below. Like on a stage that you can put inside or something. Too much possibilities.

That’s about it, not to hard, its just a room that is more focused on parties, because I’ve seen quite a few people try to have parties, but no where to have it and the only things they have to work with is huge crowd of people dancing at the same time that’s it.


Music System


Instruments
Ok well first off, you would need to get instruments and you can get them by purchasing them with your ticket/tokens that you won in the Tavern from the Bartender. With these instruments you would be able to play various songs by buying the Song Scripts from the Bartender with your Ticket/Tokens.

Song Scripts
To play your instrument you'd have to purchase song scripts that you can buy from the Bartender in the Taverns First Floor with your ticket/tokens and before you would buy them, they would have a difficulty rating next to it or so.
These song scripts are what would activate your instrument when you have them equiped or something allowing you to play various songs. Maybe some of the songs already in the game??

But playing these songs won't be something that you just click and play, you'd have to have atleast some skill to play them. So when you activate you Song Script you'd get another window that shows up.
To play the songs you'd have to hit the one or more of the arrow keys on time as they show up on the window. Sort of like Flash flash revolution a bit but instead, here if you missed the arrow you wouldn't play that note from the song and same thing goes if you hit the wrong arrow. So that you'd actualy have to have some skill to play the songs. Or some other way that turns Playing the Instrument into more of a Minigame type thing. Feel free to suggest any ideas.

Restrictions??
This feature would of course have maybe a 2 minute cooldown or so or longer or maybe even less depending where you are, so you don't annoy the hell out of other people by constant playing like in cities. Since there would probably end up being alot of people doing this.

Some great ideas. Can't wait to see them. Just came back after quite a while, so some of this may be previously stated or is allready in-game.

I really like Ambient Crowd Noises/Active NPC's, because I'm all about immersion. Oblivion has done a relatively decent job of giving NPC's active lives, and on specific scheduals, so certianly the prcedent exists. I'll pass on the virtual public bathrooms, however .

Character Profiler, no problem there, this could include not only gear, but pvp rating (in whatever incarnation this game implements, if any), build, and so on, such as WoW's Armory (yeah they need more bandwidth). Exportable in any number of formats, though I would not expect that, would be a plus.

PvPvE Journal: As a primarily PvP player, I support this suggestion and will obviously want some kind of accessible record. However, keep in mind the dev's will most assuredly place the emphasis on positive statisitics; player retention especially, and active engagement in PvP primarily the reasons. PvE rating (whatever that may be) is not all that important to me personally. I can see you, I can see your gear, I know what you did to get there. Being able to view, and display, ones PvP accomplishments, however, is, such as daily and lifetime kills and honor or some kind of faction allegiance. So call my IMHO not so H .

If you mean the same character able to belong to more than one legion at the same time, I completely disagree. As a supergroup leader I would not tolerate a member's allegience to any other supergroup (legion, guild w/e). If however you are speaking of alts on the same account, then great. I rather enjoy the coalition system in CoX, in which supergoups can coally, and it makes for some great dynamic interaction.

That being said, I suggest (and nominate if I understand this thread) an In-Game Tailor.

Like CoX, places where you can go and change your character/costume/gear look. They could be placed in the capitol cities of each faction as well as elsewhere. There is nothing worse than designing your character and then having to stick with that look for the life of your character or until you get different gear or whatever. This obviously could be done with a simple /command, but having a Tailor simply adds to our immersion. Not to mention its fun to go and change your look when you're in the mood or have a different concept, like hair, physical build, skin tone, costume pieces, gear, stuff like that. Either that, or I certainly hope they put some laundramats and bathhouses in there somwhere.

I am expanding the Tailor suggestion to include two things:

A client-side version of the character creator, so you can play with your character and then upload it to the servers. This has been asked for some time on CoX, and has been suggested elsewhere here. One of the main reasons, obviously, is to further ensure you get your name.

And multiple costume slots, to change your look at will.

So there's my dreaded wall of text. Hope you like the idea.

I nominate Bounty System. Makes the two races seem more opposed to each other, especially if your a big name on your server, you might have to deal with a lot of "assassins". Plus bounty hunting for money, rather than questing or grinding would be pretty fun, since your making money for 1 vs 1 PvP (maybe not always 1 vs 1 but you get it.)

Anti botting random events

The Mysterious Old Man may give players a mystery box. If opened, a simple question of matching the number/shape to the shape/number on the box will be given and if answered correctly, a mystery prize will be given (usually coins or gems). If the question is answered incorrectly, another mystery box will appear. Over time, if box has not been opened, the box will multiply and eventually fill a player's inventory. It cannot be dropped and if attempted to; the original box will stay and another will appear in the player's inventory. Attempting to bank the box or perform Low or High Level Alchemy on it will also cause it to duplicate. Only the original mystery box contains a prize.

The box may contain

* Coins (20, 40, 80, 160, 320, 640)
* Uncut diamond
* Uncut ruby
* Uncut emerald
* Uncut sapphire
* Half of a key
* Cosmic talisman

Appearance

The Mysterious Old Man will sometimes appear without giving anything and will not leave until players talk to him. Quickly talking to him will cause him to give coins or an item. If ignored, he will teleport players to a random location.



the above is an example of an anti botting mechanic in a very old but still played game Runescape (lulz my first MMO)

it worked exceedingly well even tho botting was hard to do in the game because everything was key clicks and not very high detail but still it was just the Nth degree of anti botting and it helped allot because there was many random events like this in the game that when happening to normal players some benefit can be made from them (asthetic items, gold, rare gems yada yada.)

Rite now my main focus to help is anti botting because no matter how thriling a game is if its ruined by botting its just going to ruin it

I nominate Flight Raiding.

I'm thinking something like this /might/ be in there, but I've seen nothing to suggest it yet.

A party, (Or 2 parties, or 3, or w/e) could fight a raid in mid-air. The entire battle.
It could be easily put in, like something as simple as, everyone would surround the boss, the MT would attack, causing the raid boss to cast a very large AoE curse, causing all players in the area to have infinite flight time until they defeat it.

Or.. there could be a "magic stone" next to the boss, in which anyone the touches it has infinite fly time as long as they're within so many yards of it.
