People who say this haven't been out of Tortage aka newbie land. Neither have I honestly, but I was chatting with a guildie last night and he says the world is pretty darn open and 'organic'. I'll report back when I've been there myself ^_~

well, the world is entirely channeled, which quite much ****es me off. Just imagine for a moment I want to kill those retards from the X guild, now, go look for them, they will be in one of those zones, in one of those dozens of channels which might be already full.

FunCom told us (Beta Testers) that they expect the ganking problem to pass onces people get out into the world more when we complained about the issue. If they have a steady influx of players though, the proplem will just perpetuate. The multiple instances of zones bothered me quite a bit. I will say, it does get better once you reach like level 20 or so. There are major balance issues though with the classes, which makes playing on a PVP server very difficult and annoying if you play a particular class. Lots of WoW people seem to be migrating to AoC also, so a majority of the community is made up of the worst kind of people. It's no Shadowbane, or L2 I can tell ya that...hell its not even a DAoC. |

I just reached level 30 in AoC and here I am reading the Aion forums... that's how disappointing the game is. I logged off due to lack of fun: an odd occurrence in MMORPGs because as the fun wears out, the addiction usually remains.
Anyway the instancing of AoC was definitely a huge gamebreaker for me. I often see posts on MMORPG forums about games taking the RP out of MMORPG, well Conan definitely takes out the M for massively. Aside from that the whole PvP system is fraked. Really no penalty for PvP death and no penalty for PK makes the all out gank fest annoying and boring. Needless to say, can't wait for Aion. |

The Guild Wars approach wasn't all bad, it did have some good points too.
- Never had to wait for a Boss spawn - You always got your quest items - Solo farming FTW!!1 - Quest areas were never crowded - No server restrictons thanks to the use of districs Though I do agree that GW seriously lacked the "world feeling" that other MMORPG's have. As for Aion, I'm under the impression that it will have the WoW feeling to it. The occational loading screen here and there, but nothing major. Overall, the world will appear to be pretty seamless... Darn... I think I better go and watch some screenshots again, since I can't play the game yet T_T __________________ ![]() Come sail away |

Ermm Maybe for PvP it's alright I don't have enough experience to comment, but for PvE camping for 1-2 weeks is not my idea of fun. If the loot drops aren't insanely rare then yes ok bring on the competition otherwise no more camping a la lizzy boots thanks ^^
