Meh, WAR is nothing like Aion. They'll attract two different crowds. If you like one more than another, no problem. It's fine, it's normal. Just play a game and be happy.

Yes but both cater for my playstyle (hardcore PvP). Not to mention WAR is going to have a dedicated Oceanic server based in Australia! Unlike other games where there's an "Oceanic" server thats actually based in the US. I do have to say I am looking forward to Aion's release more than WAR's, so hopefully I won't have to make the hard decision of playing WAR exclusively, ditching WAR and playing Aion, or playing both, should WAR come out first.

Clearly the Devs will see this thread and rush development so that they can release the game ASAP to apease the 10 people who want to selfishly play now and forgo the effort it takes to polish a game.

You can't make a dedicated server for a small crowd, maybe it's time for you aussies to go and talk about the game in your forums :P

WAR will come first most likely, so, if that's an important factor for you, I would say you're wasting your time here

The whole point of this thread was to discuss what you think of the current state of game development. This is a hobby, not a priority in my life and probably the same for almost everyone here....


Yes because teasing us with possible beta dates and release date over the past 3 years is 'rushing it.' NCSoft had major internal problems 'development time' and 'not rushing it' wasnt the cause of this mass delay. Seriously, Aion = Duke Nukem.

I rarely blame certain people, that's why I also didn't do that here. And have you even read the first post? It's all about crying out how long he's been waiting for the game to come out, while any gamer knows that games can be delayed by years. Aion is not an exception there.

Just the sentence "Your politics destroyed Lineage don't kill AION even before it comes live" is complete bull**** when referring to Aion. Do whatever you want, I won't let myself be annoyed by release dates or the game being delayed overall, as it's nothing special in the first place and this is just a videogame anyway. Not stupid enough for that.


Seriously, that's bull**** again. Or would you call 1-2 years to 10+ years a proper comparison?

First of all,I want to say that the maturity of the overall community of a game does affect your gaming experience.I could give you an example of an Official Lineage 2 server,Franz,and how it was affected from the sudden arrival of a deeply immature crowd that was coming from a recently closed pvp-server.But I don't think anyone in here would be interested in reading about it.

Seconldy,there's absolutely no need to judge,critisize and start name-calling anyone in here just because they like to complain over the delay of the game or they find pleasure in frequenting these forums.Actually,it's completely up to anyone to log in here,read any posts they like,comment on them etc.Noone is forcing anyone to read this stuff,take them into consideration or reply to them.So if you find the atmosphere in here not appealing feel free to log off and do something else that you see fit.But please do refrain yourselves from insulting anyone only because he/she chooses to do something different from what you choose.Forums are open to people that are indifferent towards the game as long as they don't abuse the community's hospitality.

Finally,I want to turn your attention to the last comment Kieron did.
Taking into consideration that CBT3 is NOT open to the NA and EU community,this means that a CBT4 is coming?Or NA and EU communities will only participate in OBT sessions?I would so much like some clarification on the matter if possible..It's like trying to read between the words or smthing so I am sure Kieron would show us some indulgence.

It means theres going to be a phase of CLOSED beta for NA/EU. It could be CBT4 or it could be CBT 2839 you don't know. It will probably last 2-4 weeks like the other phases and test out the localization of the game, and any content not tested fully during the Korea only betas.

The open beta is probably going to be a big promo like WoW had. It'll be a week long and serve no purpose other than to stress test servers and let people play and get excited about the game and spread the word. I would imagine you will see closed beta for NA/EU starting up around November. It will probably run until the end of the year or so and then there will be another development cycle if there were problems (likely) and then it will have a week long open beta with "early access" immediately following the end of OB if they choose to do that.

If everything goes as planned, the NA and EU beta testing will take place on concurrent dates but differing times in an effort to minimize server effort. The details are being hammered out and we'll make an announcement once everything is in place.

Unfortunately, NA and EU community members will not be able to participate in the Korean beta testing, closed or open. Not only is the client in Korean but there are also security measures in place to prevent non-Korean player testing. As much as I would like to say otherwise, the NA and EU communities will need to wait a little longer.

Can european people participate in the US closed beta? As you can see from this forum, there's a lot of worldwide clans, and people might want to test the game together. Is NCsoft aware of that?

Kieron, do you know if NCSoft Austin or NCSoft Europe is distributing the game to Australasia? For Guildwars, the games got distributed by NCSoft Europe and thus our accounts defaulted to the European servers, however we all switched and played on the American servers as they performed far better for us (not to mention the timezones aren't as far off)

I guess what I'm trying to get at is, will us Aussies and Kiwis be included in the NA or EU tests (if they're separate)?
