BTW I love the ignore list function. Should have started using it a long time ago. This way I'm in no way tempted to answer foolish comments from people who can only do what they do while hiding behind internet anonymity. Thanks for the bumps people!

Honestly Eidolon... the counter makes me cry inside a little... every time I look at it I pray there will be the set date on it... but i get my hopes up ><. I don't even care about the actual release date... I just want to test out Aion in a CB or OB ><

Anyway, en, it's hard to tell right now when Aion will come out, so I think using a date that will over-exceed Aion's release date would be good; possibly March or so of next year would make sure you don't "under shoot" the release date, since I assume it will come out by that time. But who knows...so many ups and downs with this game.

I thought about putting in Christmas 2009 and then just updating it when we have a real release date, but then everyone would be flaming and yelling that the timer isn't right. It would also be confusing to people who just found out about the game. That's who this is really for. The idea is to get the word out about Aion, and that's a reason I created the image. You can easily set it to link to any site you like: the official site for your region, Aion Source, whatever.

BTW anyone can create their own countdown at a number of generator sites, but this one is specifically tailored for Aion and hosted somewhere I know I can trust. I'd like to get more backgrounds for it if anyone would like to post images. I may hold a contest in the art forum, but will wait awhile before doing that.

We gave the hamsters some extra cheese and put them to work today. The countdown widget is now active. Members are voting on new designs at Which countdown style do you like best? | Elysium but feel free to submit designs here as well. We may implement it as well.

Gota say I am fairly dissapointed. THe game is basically ready for launch, we all know this, and while sure it may take a few more tests to ensure go-ready at launch, I really can't imagine much point to releasing that dangerously close to so many other AAA titles. My only concern is that it will be very hard to generate substantial hype for the launch when your following a halo game and closely proceeding Assassin Creed 2, and a number of others. (yes i know, consoles do not neccessarily compete, but when your looking for headlines and "what to watch 4" type articles, the timing seems very very odd).

I think it will do fine. Wow is comming to a point that its ?new?Content is getting old.... WAR, people are sick of a buggy game and many class imbalances... many gamers from all around are looking for a good looking game with a mix of pvp and pve and Aion is a beautifull looking game and lets face it.. giant wings on your back is an attractive feature.. people will be comming in here for sure.
