I just spotted this preview over at Play.tm
The article came out on the 31st of July. It seems to be up to date however one bit did catch my eye.

My NCsoft guides describe the game as 'fantastical', but with a leaning towards the 'ethereal', and this can be seen in the story too. There's not a goblin in sight as I'm told the sorry tale of a world crafted by five Dragon Lords, ripped apart by 12 Imperial Lords, and now literally split in two, the surviving Elyos and Asmodian cultures existing on the upper and lower levels of the sliced planet. Imagine a Terry's Chocolate Orange split in half, then imagine having warring cultures living on the inner surface of each half.

I don't seem to be able to find any of what I have underlined in the lore section on the main Aion website. If any one can point to where the underlined section came from then please put a link to the information.

Apart from this a good and accurate article.

It doesn't sound correct, at least part of it. The world wasn't made by these "Dragon Lords", but by Aion (the female God of creation). The world WAS split apart by the fueding between all the races, but I haven't heard any exact numbers or anything. Maybe they found random shiz or the internet and thought it was correct?

This was made from the Press Event we held recently, but the lore is quite intricate and perhaps overwhelming to take in all at once, so I understand that a few thigns were mixed up by some of the journalists.

Super-short version:

Aion created the world. Five Dragon Lords overthrew his rule. 12 Empyrean Lords, created in the image of humans, were made by Aion to counter the Dragon Lords and bring back balance. These Empyrean Lords would eventually split up and become the Elyos and Asmodians.

Hopefully with the release of a more detailed story, the official site's Lore sections will also be updated. Its been a while since the first chapter was released.


And I still want to know whats happening with the novel that was mentioned months and months ago.

the 12 lords are the classes i guess?

No there are only 8 classes Cleric, Chanter, Sorcerer, Spiritmaster, Assassin, Ranger, Gladiator, and Tempiler.
All though I can see where you could of got the idear for 12 classes from if you add in the 4 base classes.
I think a time line of the major points from creation of the world to the point at witch we pick up the game could be very useful.
