US/Eu Aion will release Mid 2009

Damn 2009....

Decided I am going do something productive and learn Korean so I can play it in 1 month's time! It seems easier than to wait 1 year+ and its making me a tad deluded! :'(

It's quite normal people loose their patience when projected release dates keep getting postponed, close to 3 years if I'm correct. It means players have probably held of other purchases, awaiting the game while the release date keeps getting pushed back.

If a shop tells me they'll have the item in store time after time, and each time I check they just tell me "another month", I'll just go to another shop after a while, people won't stay with the game forever, if it gets postponed again I think people will loose interest, you can only let them wait so long.

True dat. Welcome to the world of 2008. Majority of people will get fed up given enough time, I sadly am one of them. Obviously some people will keep updated and probably will continue to check on the game even if it gets pushed back by 10 years. =O

Forum people on TIG are now not too sure if AION will succeed or not. I mean the truth of the matter is WoW is the dominant RPG worldwide and in korea it is no exception. Lot of people are beginning to think that the lack of content and problems at the end of CBT along witthe upcomming release of the WoW expansion is definitely something to think about....

personally i believe everyone, even poeple who are sceptical, will probably try AION. However, maybe the lack of content may be a serious issue and if unattended to AION will fail....

No official source stated 2006 as a release date, the first suggested date with official source behind was for 2008's summer in Korea, which had to be postponed less than half a year. Must add tho, that no date was ever set as deffinitive.

Honestly, if they don't release it soon I'm going to go bonkers. I've been waiting a long time for this game, and I am getting impatient. And I can see all of you guys are, too.

We just have to keep in mind that they not only have to translate it into English they have to westernize it a bit. Because things they have in the game that might make sense in the original Korean may not make sense to us. So they are translating it in more than one sense.

And there, I'm sure, is a small amount of voice work to be done. Like the battle sounds. (But, honestly, how hard can this be? Grab a voice actor and just start smacking em with a whiffle bat till they produce enough variants of noises.)

But really I don't see why it would take them that long. 3-6 months? Can someone please explain this?

Edit: On another note, I'm glad a pre-ordered Warhammer Online.

CBT3 didnt even give HALF the content they have in store for the release. Reading any of the CBT eval interviews, they all say that there was much more content that they didnt even add which i would assume be tested during OB. Really, there are 10 more levels with high end content ranging past that, 6 more Abyss layers, and a ton of quests and junk. I think we are all really excited about this game but we wouldnt want an early release and have it all cruddy. Half a year seems like a long time but keeping your mind on other things with your every other day check up on Aion is all you need.

Maybe you can get a chance for a preview event SOON, or if you really want, try OB and learn a new language

I'm probably just going to pick up Warhammer to pass time until Aion comes out and hopefully it won't be a total fail.

to bad AOC is total failure. they got 3 months to fix their shits together an they failed. i rather wait 4 months extra than pay 50euros for a game thats 1/3 bugged. and misses half of its content.

Going back to EVE till Aion comes. i dont think warhammer will be such a big succes. dunno...
