I think the consensus from most folks was that they were just mob designs. People just thought that they might be mounts because they were wearing some stylized armor that might have been a bit like a saddle...

The idea of having mounts in a game is always a nice addition. However I think they won't be that neccesary, especially not flying mounts. The way I would like to see it would be having regular ground mounts(whatever they might be.) and perhaps some really race specific rare flying mounts, which will make you faster in the air. But these'd be really rare and only a couple on a server, they'd have to take a really long time to gain aswell. Maybe a pegasus or so for the Chosen and a sort of dragon that you have to "tame" for the Fallen. It would seem abit realistic that way, a really rare mount mob that spawns once every xxxxx time and needs a rare drop/drop from a strong Dragon boss to be able to have a chance to tame it (if you can weak it, because else it'd fly away).

Something along those lines would seem tempting to me.

I guess ground mounts wouldn't be a bad idea, but really I think we can do without them quite easily.

Would be nice to have pets though.

how do you know that ? we dont know at all how the game land will be.. there is ton s of good reasons for ground mounts even with a flying feature.

eh, its funny tho. from what i remember seeing, it looks like they had very ornate and decorated harnesses. they looked like domesticated animals at the very least, not some sort of mob. i realize i just repeated what you said, but by the same token, that kind of design work doesn't go into something that is going to be a mob running around--for to be anything else doesn't make any sense. at the very least, npc mounts would be my figuring, if not for player use. or at least to fill up a stable in town or some such. of course, a lot of the time, designs are drawn and then not used at all.

i can't see there being much use for mounts in Aion seeing as the player races will have usable wings (i am aware of the debate over the ma 'growing' wings--as a side note so no one jumps on me for that )

True, I take back the "we can do without them easily" comment. However I certainly think that they can put it off until later.

Why take the time to design mounts right away, when I'm guessing flying will be a very pleasurable way to travel, and possibly fairly fast.

And besides that, I think its good early on in the games life for people to move around the map somewhat limitedly. So that the environment (especially one as stunning as in Aion) is experienced, and isn't just overlooked as people zoom from town to exp spot. But I'm an avid explorer so take that opinion with a grain of salt.

Honestly I wasn't commenting on this thread because that's my thought right there, you have wings, what more could you want??
I suspect though mounts are very cool they might end up being underused in the end.

But I might be completely wrong. ^^

hmmmm....some kind of large demon? I dunno but not likely...

maybe clan airships that can move to the battlefield(Abyss) and around the skies?

Ok to start off with there probly be no Si-fi items so no ships realy it might be liek a larg animal or dragon BUT it could have ships but not like how ur saying it

theres no humans and why would Aion use horses theres nothing that will go with horses in Aion

I don't know why I would want a mount... I think the whole... flying thing is what interests a lot of people in this game... if I had to run around on a horse... no thanks ^_^
