Aion's flight system is nowhere near as simple minded as Blizzards flying mount system.

I think its meant in terms of flight mechanics, not flight strategy (which Aion should excel at over WoW, since there is more or less no strategy involved with WoW flying mounts). The rest of the similarities to WoW are superficial, and shared by other MMOs as well (any mention of WoW is because of its popularity in the US).

There have been considerations of implementing flying mounts into Azeroth, not sure how far they went with that, but they say it's a possibility. Even if you couldn't, you could do it in Outlands. Yeah, there are limitations but so does Aion.

2) There is air Combat, meaning while in flight you can use your skills attack a player of the opposite faction, and completely ruin their day if you manage to kill them. In WoW...well... I guess I can fly super fast... right? When was the last time you were flying and out of nowhere a shadow bolt hit you for 8k crit.... NEVER.

Fly low enough and I'll be happy to hit you with a Nightfall proc + Backlash proc double Shadowbolt . I know that's not what you meant, I just had to respond lol.

Yeah, no kidding. They do end up repeating the same information over and over again when it's been done months ahead of time. It's nice to finally get some playing experience in there.

Calm down. It's not outdated, it was just a slip-up in terms by the article's author. Maybe he was so excited while writing the article he slipped up and didn't realize it

Off topic, but hell yeah! lol. One of the funniest things I ever saw was this nub who got himself flagged then tried to fly as high as possible. Guildie mage hopped on his mount, met the guy at the max height restriction, popped slowfall and nuked the crap out of him. I just about died laughing as his dead corpse plummeted back down to earth. rofl.
