Translation for "Aion - New Armors" Interview by NCsoft
Original Source: plaync - AION :: Tazz? ?? ???=
The following translation was quickly done by a local friend of mine upon request through instant messaging, so please pardon any grammatical errors, etc. Heck, in other words, just try to ignore the "IM" feel, lol. I've bolded a few phrases to help you quickly recognize how the translation's organized. : ok, with the picture of the female character : he's saying that this race's image is like simple : pure : and the second character : they come from a harsh environment : and the image/look reflects that : survivalist : wild : and then the "Scouts" thing : they made a muscle shirt type of thing : to emulate the muscle-ness(? : and all the veins and stuff popping out : "Warriors" : same concept as before : but gold plated : more armor : "Priests" : less armor : more broken up armor type of feel : more fluidity i guess : but still has some armor : "Mages" : more accessories : on top of the muscle shirt thing : Q: What new stuff? : A: more shiny armor, more sci-fi feel : more stuff on armor : like horns and stuff : on the shoulders and stuff : (2:14) : Last question: word to fans : beta is coming out soon : the end Last edited by aznkenshin; 09-21-2008 at 09:48 PM.. |

Mark, if you can get me a couple connections inside of NCsoft, we may be able to create some as Fine Art Pieces. I've been wanting to do that for years, as we had a couple of comic artists in my gallery for a while, including one artist who now works for ArenaNET on GW2.
Because of how small this world is getting thanks to the internet, it may be possible for us to have some of that concept art via Limited Edition Fine Art pieces. Lets figure something out, cause i'm dead serious about this. -Sokar |

Well, I can send you some of the art pieces in AionSource.com's Gallery without our watermark on them if you're interested in any of them.

I already got them all before you watermarked them ^_^ they're up in my sig file gallery.
But what i need in order to do this are Fine Art files.... meaning they need to generally be flattened files in the original DPI that NCsoft created them in, hence why we'd need to team up to do this. JPG format is absolutely unusable for an image that will print out at 30"x40" at over 600 dpi in 32bit color depth. I have used some of the images from the website to create some art for my own Home, but the largest i could upscale them was to about 16"x20" and that took a *LOT* of photoshop work in order to retain quality (plus, i used the museum quality Archival Watercolor Paper which is far more forgiving DPI wise than other materials). This is a serious art project i'm talking about here, one that would require permission from NCsoft. I'm up to it if you'd be willing to help out. My life is art, and i've been formally trained for half a decade by a Formal Japanese Fine Art Publisher in order to do this, as well as having more than 14 years experience managing artists. I think this would be positive for the community because i've always thought that bringing anime-styled art as a form of Fine Art will be the next major thing here in the United States. I currently have the connections to bring the official art from Iria:Zeiram, Samurai 7, and Basilisk to the united states. It would be nice to add the art to Aion, as i think it's one of the finest in terms of Collectable quality. What i'm asking is much more than a hobby question.... let me know if you're interested Mark, or at least see if you can help me out with some connections. -Sokar |

Nice interview really. It does what it needs to, gives an idea of where they are at and what they are looking towards for design of gear. Glad to see they don't appear to have any intent on going with the ultra absurd like WoW.
