I could understand a mount like a water type of mount because technically you can't fly long distances without rest.....Thats the only reason I could see for a mount.
As for teleportation the world is supposed to be extremely vast aka may take 30-60mins to fly to a specific town. At which point teleporting could come in handy. But for the most part the game is based aorund flying and I dont think anyone would particularly mind flying that long considering the graphics. |

i really really hope we get to fly very early on. having to wait till a level later on, or a long tedious quest is always a pain in the ***.
as for the mounts, i highly doubt they will be included, but it is possible that the develpors feel that flying isnt fast enough for covering certain massive areas of the world, and thus want to give the players mounts to cut back on long flight times. this probably won't happen though. as for teleporting, im sure most people agree that this would be good (i cant think of a reason why it would be a bad thing), but who knows if it will be implemented. |

I think teleporting is crucial, just think about pvp battles, if there was one organised for a certain time it would mean you would have to start flying ten minutes in advance, just so you get there and dont miss the battle. I think teleporting will be crucial in this game. As for mounts maybe in an expansion pack if they feel like it.

yeah but the whole thing about teleporting for pvp that i learned in L2 is you will always have a side that spawn camps the hell out of you so your better off flying there

I think teleporting and mounts are a bad idea. It would take the fun out of flying and the flight seems pretty fast so..what's the point of the others?

^ .... maybe for flying but yeah teleports to certain areas are ok but flying is just fine but a nice ground mount that you can fight on would be nice

I think mounts are a bad idea, as for a 10ft long Dragon, that would be cool but I dont think its going to happen.
And who says you have to be flying at a great height? What if I was to just you know hover a few feet off the ground out of reach of nasty lizard teeth. As for teleportation I liked the WoW version as opposed to the Guild Wars, being restricted with your teleporation is a good idea, too easy and it does make the world feel smaller. I suppose its that way in guildwars because the open areas are instanced. I think a desperation Teleport, like the Hearthstone, and automated flight paths from POIs would be a good idea like in WoW. Flight paths would be a nice touch because you get all the fun of flying past everything without controlling it for a great length of time. |

I agree mounts seem somewhat superfluous in addition to flying. I will say, though, if mounts ARE included, they should be broadly available, even if expensive. The whole "guild leader gets a dragon" thing in LII was a major turn off to me--and this is speaking as a former guild leader (albeit not on LII).
Teleportation I'd like to see though. If nothing else, give the priests a little extra income. WOW's teleportation system seemed a bit watered-down to me though. FFXI's was better, but I have to admit, even today, the best teleportation system I've seen has been EQ's. One of the hallmarks of druids and wizards was their ability to teleport, and I'd LOVE to see a return of Evac spells. The trick would be simply to keep the points far enough apart; perhaps only have teleporting between continents. Teleport in as close as possible, then fly for a few minutes to your destination. With a large enough world, I can't see any reason this couldn't be managed. --oh, and of course, everyone should get Gate/Warp/Hearth/etc. __________________ Peace and safety. Yeah i think a Hearth exquivilent is essential. I remember on my first character on WoW. I fell off a cliff and then landed on some branch miles down and died. Forgetting about that Death Angel thing i went off in search of my body and found it, then fell in the ocean and then attempted to swim around looking for a way out...eventually that fatigue thing came in.
Yes i was a noob and didnt know about anything in WoW but it made me realise how important the Hearth can be and i think something similar should be put in. Even if it is locked to your factions main city/area. |

Xhieron, your speaking of Evac spells bring back so many memories of lost battles in EQ. :P
Regardless-- I believe that if teleportation is implemented it must of course be rare, and not exaggerated as I and others have already elaborated on previously, much like you hinted towards. |
